Also term losing to a very good Wolfsburg team is not bottling it. There's a reason they came comfortably second in the bundesliga this season. They are obviously no Bayern but are still a very good team.
Losing to a relegation threatened team whilst being outplayed? That's bottling it.

It's not finishing 6th that is the big failure for me (though 4th was up for grabs this season).
It's the pathetic showing in Europe and failure to even get to the final of a domestic cup despite clearly setting that out as a target and taking both seriously.
Rodgers needs to sort his shít out though, and fast. But it's not all on Rodgers. We've got a squad of players who simply aren't good enough to be batting much higher than they are at present. 5th/6th is the level of our squad.
------------
I agree with this. For us supporters there is a lack of transparency and indeed accountability with regards the clubs transfers.
I would expect the season review which is to take place to shine some light on where the fault lies.. If Rodgers keeps his job then perhaps the problem is more diverse.
For me the failure to bring in Sanchez, then the Remy fiasco, followed by the clubs decision not to meet Bony's wage demands left us with a truly horrendous set of striking options in Sturridge's absence.
I appreciate other areas of the team misfired, however goals win games and our set of attacking options meant we were always going to struggle to finish in the CL positions.
If Rodgers is sacked (which I don't think will happen). then perhaps he played a direct role in the clubs questionable player acquisition.
And Rap, they have both managed in Europe and Klopp's record is far superior to Rodgers.

why is the Remy deal a 'fiasco'
doctors said he has a heart condition and they couldn't say with certainty he wouldn't drop dead on the pitch.
Chelsea said we don't care, we cared.
The end.

Let's bring in Di Matteo
Real Madrid vice-president Eduardo Fernandez de Blas has accidentally let slip at the meeting of a fans group that Rafa Benitez will be the new club coach.
Benitez will leave Napoli at the end of the season and has been hotly tipped to take over from Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu but so far there has been no confirmation.
"Ancelotti is an absolute phenomenon and we give him all our appreciation," Fernandez de Blas told the Madrid members group.
"Until three days ago he was the best trainer in the world as two years ago it was Jose Mourinho and from this week onwards it will be Rafa Benitez."
Also apparently Tom Werner is travelling to Liverpool.
Dortmunds squad is far superior to ours.
----
It wasn't when Klopp took over. Yet it is now, when he spent a truck load less money than Rodgers.
Weird.
I can't believe there are people that still believe Klopp isn't a better manager than Rodgers. Very amusing.

I think it's the over-rating of the PL that does it.
Anyone who hasn't achieved in the PL is treated with suspicion, despite the fact it's been second rate for the last 5 years or so.
If Mourinho had never managed in England and had just won stuff in Spain, Italy and Portugal then he would get the same suspicion, as if achieving something in England is the only marker of success.

He got relegated with a team who had never been in the Bundesliga before.
He got them to the Bundesliga in the first place laying the groundwork for their current position of being in it for 6 straight seasons.
This season hasn't been an utter collapse. Dortmund reached the KO stage of the CL, qualified for the EL and reached a cup final.
Rodgers has never done two of those things, and this is Klopps apparent 'utter collapse'.
Oh, and his title winning teams (which apparently only happened because Bayern weren't very good, as if the other 18 teams don't count) weren't just title winning teams.
They got the most points by a German side ever, the most wins since the great 72-3 Bayern side, and the longest unbeaten run in the Bundesliga ever.
That was all LVG's fault though.
I'm not saying i have any issue Klopp, and would be happy enough with him, but some of you need to ease of with all the messiah talk. He hasn't had a good season, and for those who keep saying he's had his squad ripped apart, here's some of the names he still has in that squad:-
Hummels
Papastathopoulos
Subotic
Bender
Kagawa
Reus
Sahin
Immobile
Aubameyang
Not exactly shabby, is it?
I'm not trying to put him down, just balancing it out a little.
But..But.. Rodgers has won the championship play off final cup..

I'm not comparing Rodgers to Klopp though. There's no doubt he's had a shocker this season. But enough people were happy enough to dismiss as irrelevant his lack of silverware until now....
That's because we were doing very well in the league, now he doesn't have that going for him there is very little that he has going for hi .
Nobody is saying he is the messiah term, in fact far from it. How good a manager Klopp is still open for debate, that is true. What is not open for debate is he is a much better manager than Rodgers.
Nobody has said he is a messiah.
Not a single person.
He has obviously had a relative struggle this season or he wouldn't even be leaving Dortmund.
He is better than Rodgers though, which is for some reason, a debate, despite the clear difference between the two.
Klopp proved a flop when he couldn't stop a couple of his best players from leaving for the top.

I'm pretty sure if you read back through comments and articles over the last month or so (don't actually expect you to!!) then you would see that that is the impression some see it as.
I'm definitely not happy with Rodgers at the moment, but I don't want him replaced for the sake of change. What I mean by that is that I don't want another 'potential' type manager brought in. That could set us back even further. But now could be the right opportunity to replace him, because there are two managers available that could improve us in the long term, and that's Klopp and Ancelotti. Klopp may be a gamble because he has tarnished his reputation somewhat this season IMO. Yes, he's done well in the cups, but why has the same team been so poor in the league? Maybe he's just been there too long, who knows? Overall, Ancelotti would be my choice. He commands respect in the media and football world, and is a proven winner at numerous clubs. You could argue that he needs big money to succeed, that's the 'gamble' part of him.
