I would play Milner at right back but that won't happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rashford against Milner would be absolute carnage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure how much better TAA would fair in his current form actually though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rashford was on the right last night but could well start through the middle on Sunday if Martial isn't fit

My least favourite game of the season and always has been but it's the perfect game for us atm.

I reckon Shaqiri may start and he'll have an influence. Football is weird like that and I'm pretty sure we'll win.

Anyone but Trent against Utd please. There are a few players in our squad who need to learn their place isn't safe.

Lol.

Yeah, it does feel like we need to freshen it up somehow, even just from a mental standpoint it can have a positive effect on the rest of the players, so i'd like to see Shaqiri start. After a number of bad performances in a row it makes sense

Still expecting Wijnaldum to start again though.

Klopp will go with Hendo, Thiago and Wij midfield. Shaq is a good bench option if we need to win game.

Yeah probably and I've no idea what he's going to do in central defence if Matip can't start.

We're good, really good, but not so good we can take Fabinho AND Henderson out of midfield. I think Trent suffers when Henderson doesn't protect that channel too as Salah doesnt have to do much defensively (although is clearly told to in bigger games which he does tbf).

I think this is the first time Klopp has had the players for an entire week without interruption since September or something.

Trent needs to be careful with his career or else it will go in the same route as Deli Alli. Both exceptional very young which has built up there urban market appeal but Deli took his eye of the ball and his career has gone downhill. Same thing will happen with Trent if he is not careful.

Deli Alli was never THAT good technically. Insane movement, eye for goal, able to improvise and takes risks but he's about two or three levels below Trent talent wise.

Personally I think people are being more than fickle about TAA, the lad is pure quality. As many know I think he'll end up in midfield anyway.

The amount of comments on all of 606 about players attitudes, commitment, motivation and other spurious words like "hunger" is, ironically, mental.

Of course, you can say what you want from the comfort of your front room.

They probably don't even care about football as much as us.

If we're going to guess though maybe Trent is getting a bit sick of right back. It's a sh!thouse position with loads of responsibility and you have to work your nuts off. On top of that you rarely get to score or do cool stuff like step overs and banging one in from 20 yards. His hero is Gerrard, he's played his entire life bar first team football bossing midfield.

I don't want to hear about money either, my best paid jobs in life are generally ones I don't enjoy!

Trent could still be affected by Covid to be fair.

We have no idea the long term impacts, and even a 1/2% drop in performance is enough to look off at this level.

Yeah Salah and Mane dipped a bit too so it'd be no surprise.

He's just out of form, badly out of form. He's not going the way of Dele Alli, nor is he "sick of playing right back" which are both ridiculous suggestions.

It's a shame as he started the season very slowly but was getting back to his best before he got injured against City, and has struggled since returning. Being rushed back because Neco was making silly mistakes didn't help either.

He's had 3 or 4 similar dips in form already in his career here and come back strong from all of them. Remember that day at Old Trafford where Rashford gave him the runaround and see how good he was in our CL run subsequently after.

He'll get back to it I'm sure, but that really needs to be sooner rather than later as his form is usually a microcosm for the team as a whole, such is his importance to us.

Trent is a worldclass player and he will end up in midfield. He can play in a more forward role and will learn to position himself in those half spaces were he can have the same impact with his crossing like KDB does for City.

Robbo is the complete fullback at this moment and maybe in a few years Owen Wijndal can rival him as the best fullback.

posted on 13/1/21

I also think he misses having Hendo on the right who's excellent at covering for him, as well as their link up play.

Jones and Ox for different reasons are understandably not as good at it.

Yeah I think the game against Southampton proves Henderson has to be in that right central spot and if that means playing Williams or Phillips, so be it.

posted on 13/1/21

So not having Henderson in RMF was the reason why Trent allowed Ings to score
