I reckon trent will play v Man City
makes u think that? he took milner off early vs porto?
I don't think you can use injuries as an excuse to being a flop personally.
Part of the reason why people argue that the likes of Firmino, Mane, Salah, Van Dijk (until the Pickford incident) were such great signings for us is the fact they are pretty much always available to play and extremely rarely injured. Availability is key. You obviously can't make an impact if you cant play.
Likewise on the flip side as why Keita and Ox are big flops is because they are rarely available. It's a pretty important factor in determining whether a player is a good signing or not.
hes been injured about the same amount of times as henderson since his arrival
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58753489
This is perhaps the most pointless thing I've ever read. They need to spend 10 days in isolation but can leave once a day to train or play.
Then what the fack is the point?!
I don't know ifs because they don't have serious runs between injuries, but neither Keita nor Ox are as good as other first team options.
Keita is not as good as Thiago (or even Milner)... Ox has several players ahead of him on the team sheet.
I don't think either player is a bad player and if not injured they would be adequate. Without the run of injuries maybe they would be better and challenging for first team more?
I definitely feel much more comfortable with Thiago on the field than Keita though.
Keita has been poor for us. His only good run in the team was after first covid lockdown when the title was in the bag. After that he was a disaster against Villa and Madrid. Klopp rarely plays him. He even plays kids before him. He is a dud.

Was sharp v Milan
I think Torres is absolutely comparable to Haaland and Mbappe, the other two just have more hype because that's how football is these days with social media.
Ronaldo and Messi are in the bracket above the other three I would say, Mbappe and Haaland need to prove themselves before they're considered the same.

I'm a big fan of Torres and what he did for us but the season before he joined he got 15 goals in 40 games. Year before, 13 in 40 games.
For context, Mbappe got 42 in 47 last season. Haaland 41 in 41 (with 11 in 8 this season).
Personally I don't think there's a club in the world that would turn down the opportunity to sign either Haaland or Mbappe if they could afford it. Not one.
I'm sure there was competition for Torres but I don't think the same can be said of him.
fack me just remember how sheite vvd and matip were vs watford as i realised we got city this weekend.

Good video on this article of the team doing a photoshoot. Klopp labels Tsimikas ‘The Greek Scouser’!

With Torres a lot of people knew how good he could be and a lot of people wanted to sign him... But he didn't yet have the fame factor he would get when playing for us.

I reckon Gomez many come in on Sunday. Think I have been wrong about every team sheet this season though, so undoubtedly it will be Matip.

3 times in a week? i thought he'd be rested for porto but wasnt. Either theyre doing something diff with him and hes doing well and theyve fixed w.e caused him break down or theyre proper risking it and hoping he lasts until konates settled in
I'd like to see Gomez tbh, has a great record with Virgil

Yeah that's a fair rebuttal to be honest
attackers in general seem to get higher numbers compared to when torres was coming through imo
Has to be remembered that Atletico weren't as good a team back then as they are now.
Pretty sure Torroes was played as more of a 10 at Atletico and was captain at 17. It was definitely a coup to sign him. Alonso too and Masch to an extent. Young, high quality bonafide internationals.
yeah they turned over player after player though back then. not as good at it as they used to be. replaced de gea with courtois then oblak etc, the strikers they replaced, aguero torres etc.
theyve replaced talent but seem to pay shed loads more for it now and its not worked out as well, martinez and that felix lad?
