But yeah the Jota injury does hurt us a bit. Hopefully Carvalho can step up
We can still play Nunez and Salah as the two strikers and Firmino behind them. Elliott,Carvalho or Trent as a hybrid right winger/midfielder. The most important thing is to have players who can defend. Don't play the jogging back Trent at right back anymore.

PL came too soon for Gerrard. I know he courted Coutinho but that side was already attack heavy when he took over...it was the defence that needed investment and those additions haven't been good
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah mings is poverty always has been still can't believe England called him up but i guess thats Southgate for ya.
He had a quality midfield and some tasty forward options. Luiz Mcginn Ramsay was looking tasty for a while then Luiz wanted to leave and started being funny? And ofc Michael Beale was a huge loss for him.

That just sounds horrific to me
It was pretty fluid.
Against City it looked like Klopp asked Elliot to stay close to Salah regardless of position. There was a point where they were both on the left and Elliot kinda tracked Salah.
It's crazy how the system requires Firmino's intelligent positioning and movement for it to work. I mean we also realised that Salah is just wasted staying out wide but we still need to see if Nunez is able to create the space for Salah like Firmino can.
At the other end we still have to see if Elliott can position himself better defensively when Trent is in the side.
Still some way to go with this new formation tbh

Nunez and Salah can still move into the channels. Salah has experience playing with a big physical player like Dzeko at Roma. Salah strength is the freedom to play in those half spaces and centre area. Carvalho on the wing didn't work against Brighton and he isn't physical and quick and enough to play in the 433.
Jones still out
Ox started full training. He didn't say when but I'm assuming he meant today
Keita in parts of team training
Konate expected back in team training over the weekend.
Matip facked
Ramsay ready to play for u21s
Jota facked. Diaz facked.
That' about it right?
Ramsey ended up having surgery. How he got through the medical I don't know.
Good that Ox is back as he could actually be quite a key player in this new formation given the injuries.
Should be comfortable playing either right or left.
Ox usually needs 6 months to get his fitness back, then he will look sharp before getting injured again. Rinse and repeat.
Horrible news about Jota, what an absolute bummer.
Basically we will need to rely on Carvalho and Ox when he's back for width up front. Maybe a diamond could work instead - Salah and Nunez/Firmino upfront, Elliot behind, Robbo and Trent for width.

salah just doesn't get fouls, it takes x3 the amount of minutes than other forwards to get 1
look at where salah is on this graph

Salah is defo targeted by the refs. Yes he used to go down easily before VAR but now he gets rugby tackled every game and the ref looks the other way every time.
oh i posted the graph that he doesn't fit on, heres an expanded one

Yeah the treatment of Salah in the league is absolutely disgusting.
Sounds like Klopp is going to sue for the comments alleging xenophobia... Good on him I say as it's a nonsense accusation. Adds more fuel to the fire for the morons on here though.
If City get away with it...you'll feel they'll get the impression they can bully anyone
So good on the club and Klopp for taking them on
Apparently the bus wasn't attacked either
