Needs to be careful though...might lose those crumbs he's been scavenging of these past few years
vvd and fabinho need dropping for the foreseeable future probably have done for a while tbf. tremt too or stick him in midfield cant be any worse.
couldnt believe how we've gone back to fabinho dropping on the cbs toes to take the ball off them, is that because vvds been pinging balls out of play for the last few months?
might aswell play nat phillips if thats the case

Elliott was shocking but has been massively overplayed this season because of the lack of the depth in midfield.
The root cause to all our issues is lack of investment, particularly in that area.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't say Elliot is overplayed tbh. We should have better players than him to start games. But his time will come perhaps.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
alisson aside Elliotts been our best player, hands down best outfield player this season. And yes hes been overplayed, yet Klopps even admitted it... Says it all really.
Jones was shocking, VVD pathetic for their second can't believe he switched off like that then just did some statue esque defending, embarrassing as bad as Gomez was that was far worse imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
VVD is hitting new lows on a weekly basis. He still thinks he has a aura.
Klopp should have freshened up his backroom staff, something Fergie did constantly.
has he bought too much into pep and got too close? some are saying what we're trying are more pep than klopp?
i blame achterberg ofc
A few reports about Pep getting more say behind the scenes. I have no doubt when they rehired him that there were some assurances made.
I just think there's way too much emotion involved in our decision making lately whereas we built this juggernaut on analytics
I do think Klopp's biggest fault is his loyalty.
Letting too many players leave for free instead of selling them when it's clear they won't sign a new contract being probably the biggest one.
Ox and Keita should have been gone in the summer and we should have used that to reinvest.
It's not easy to get rid of players who are on a big contract and won't be getting the same money again. Other clubs just pay the player off or give them a Bosman so they can leave so this again is a operational issue.
We kept hearing that we have 8 or 9 midfielders in the squad but how many are actually any good. In summer you would have said Fab, Thiago and Hendo. Now we are saying just Thiago
Yeah selling Keita and Ox will be difficult regardless.
It would have been difficult but I think in their situations you sell them for a discounted price to offset their wages/injury issues, although maybe that's what the club tried already and had no takers.
Perhaps the worst part is Keita was in line to be offered a new contract until he kicked up a fuss, which I don't understand personally.
Watched Joao Gomes of Flamengo in the copa libertadores final in the weekend and the guy did an excellent job in midfield. Vitor Roque is another great talent and played in that game and looks a good player in the mould of Jesus.
We need to gamble on those players before they get expensive.

I have to admit the most puzzling bit of it all is Fabinho.
Almost overnight his performance level has dropped from one of the worlds top 5 midfielders into looking like a championship player. A staggering decline so big it is incomprehensible.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, this has been very strange. I think the criticism Van Dijk received about playing within-himself to make sure he makes the world cup feel like a credible theory. Fabinho is in the same boat but isn't playing within-himself, he just looks completely knackered.

We should be looking at Enzo Fernandez at Benfica. He is a tenacious baller.
For legs we should be looking at Kaudio Kone. Currently at Gladbach so both will not cost a bomb.
Both 22 too.
Another weekend completely ruined.
I was genuinely upset at this one tbh.
A lot of it is confidence I feel. We cannot keep conceding the first goal and expect to win games, it changes every thing that we can do the opposition and what they can do to us.
Gomez can fvck right off atm as far as I am concerned.
But as much as a lot of it is confidence and awful lot of it I now suspect is down to attitude.
How you can put in performances like City and follow that up with the likes of Forest and Leeds can only be that surely, or a large part of it.
If we had won those two I reckon we would have made top four fairly comfortably as I fully expect us to kick on after the WC but now it's going to be incredibly difficult.
Will need another 12 game winning run or something.

Attitude is all completely wrong this year, fitness is questionable, tactics are wrong, players aren't doing the basics right.
How we've gone from touching distance to the quad to this shower of shiiiite is incomprehensible.

💬 @JamesPearceLFC: Jurgen Klopp should have been backed more but he’s not immune to criticism himself. There are squad players who have contributed nothing so far this season who really should have been moved on last summer. He wasn’t ruthless enough.
FSG Pearce will be losing his pre match pork pie if not careful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not Klopps job to sell players though.
The worst thing about performances being poor is all the hogwash I'm gonna have to read on here and in the media.
Feel like boycotting media as I'm not sure I can take another round of mass nonsense and stupidity.

We could have bough Enzo Fernandez from River but the club doesn't take risks with players playing in South America. Buying him from Benfica will cost big money. Cut the middle man off. Benfica don't sell cheap to English clubs.
Tchouameni played at Toulouse which is owned by Redbird who have a stake in FSG. Never understood why we didn't bought him from Toulouse before he went to Monaco. There are enough big physical technical players in the French league who could strengthen our midfield.

OK, Here we go already.
He does but the same way he can't force us to bring in players he wants, he also can't force sales.
For example, he admitted we went after Tchouameni but the club couldn't get him in. We also tried to get some loan deals for some players and failed.
Just because Klopp ants someone in or out doesn't mean it's gonna happen, does it? And you know that, but I guess silly season is around the corner.
This time I can see a silly season for the ages. It's gonna be legendary. 90% of it won't make any sense.
