I like him a lot, seen him a number of times in the Champions League and been very impressed every time. His goalscoring record in the last couple of years has been sensational.
Really hope it happens, shame we didn't snap up Luiz Adriano ( went to Milan for £6m) in the summer as well as the pair linked up beautifully together. We'd have Brazilians coming out of our ears in attacking positions.

I might just let out a bit of seeeex wee if we sign Tex. ...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I read that as Semtex wee. Explosive orgassms are one thing, but really?!
Bringing back Doni and Aurelio and signing some samba centre backs would give us a tasty looking side of Brazilians
----------------Doni
Flani Alves CB CB Aurelio
Allan Lucas Hendinho
Tex Firmino Coutinho
Never seen the lad but you can't knock his goal record and Brazillian forwards are not exactly ropey (ignore the ones with English names like Fred and Jo).
It would be a surprising move if we splash big in January but it would be a welcome one.
Interesting that the BBC have it up so that makes me think it's a real approach.
Hopefully we can close this quickly.
Oh I think it's definitely real.
Every source has it including Echo as well as BBC.
Hope it's not another Willian saga.
It's not that surprising for me. Players of his quality wanting to come here won't happen that often, the fact nobody else is properly interested, his desire to move now to get in the Brazil squad and a bit of Klopp has given us a chance.
He is the ideal type of player for Klopps system and he is versatile from the wing to centre forward. I'd expect him to play wider initially if we did sign him.
A front three of
Texeira- Firmino- Coutinho
Looks exciting.
All ifs and buts at this stage though, we know what Ayre is like.
If true, the clubs seem about 14m apart on price. Hope it doesn't mean it's going to get drawn out..... Hopefully the difference will be made up of add ins..
Shaktars president is notoriously a nightmare to deal with. It will probably be hard work getting him a work permit as well. It won't be done if it drags out until deadline day, too complicated a deal to do late on.
Yeah i cant see him not getting a work permit if we are putting out a big fee
Work Permit shouldn't be a problem for a player with his record in Ukraine, and the fact he scored 3 in the CL this season.
Will he pass a medical with an(other) injured hamstring ?
Alex Teixeira, cout, lucas, and firm need to get on the phone ffs
His hamstring is a minor tweak apparently.
The full blown tear will happen on debut
looks like we're going brazillian then, can't we get neymar ffs

God yeah, forgot about him!
I believe it's true we are trying.
Doesn't mean we will though.
Looks OK on the work permit issue, as r1 says it seems he's satisfy enough criteria.

Just the small matter of agreeing a deal first.
Meanwhile other Texeira, Joao Carlos, confirms he is in discussions with the club over a new deal.
Does he have a real future here or is it just so we get more for him when he leaves, not sure.
He also says he wants to play.
I still think he might leave in the summer, but I guess it will depend on what offers he gets.
He might sign a new deal if he doesn't fancy any of the clubs his agent will no doubt be talking to.
I think he's really talented. If you take out his time out injured, then he hasn't really been here that long. I think he's 23, if he stays he could be a good squad player. If he's happy with that then there's no reason not to keep him.
