For turning down not just us but also Arsenal, Barca and Bayern to play for his boyhood club he deserves ridicule and mockery?

You could say it lacks ambition but if he doesn't want to play for another team, then he'd just be moving for money. As it is, he's turned down millions to stay true to the club he wants to play for.

Basically you and I have a different idea of what deserves ridicule.

He might come to regret the decision in time. Given how far he led us down the path, we might be the last big team to come knocking.

He said playing for Liverpool was his ‘dream’ but his wife didn’t fancy it.

Looks more like he’s afraid to come out of his comfort zone. He doesn’t deserve praise for turning down money, it’s not as if he’s going to be skint, is it?

You actually think his last minute back down is purely down to loyalty? Looks more like he’s willingly let himself be talked out of it to make himself feel better. No one with actual ambition would be swayed be talk of mountains and food FFS. It’s ridiculous.
