Big game this weekend. Peps in the middle of a midlife crises too. He’s gonna overthink the city lineup and take a more pragmatic approach maybe. Add in a few injuries too.

Any word on konate injury

The CL was the perfect game to get some confidence. Home to an average team, and they thought they’d achieved it by going 3-0 up, and then it went wrong again.

This isn’t the perfect game for them to find form at all, I bet if they were being honest they would rather play anyone but us at the moment. I’m not saying they won’t suddenly turn things around, but I just find it odd that so many think they’re playing us at the best time for them.

It’s not that they’re playing us at the best time for them, but it’s the best game for them to start picking up some form because they will have to be bang at it, which they haven’t been for a while.

You don't think that playing in a massive game can inspire a team? Walking on the pitch knowing that anything less than 100% effort will mean a loss, that wont focus the mind?

Playing us means City have zero room for the complacency that's crept into their game. That's my concern for the weekend.

Ugh, worst possible timing

That’s a bit of a disaster, he’s in the best form since he arrived. Up to Virgil to guide Quansah through this now. Though I get the feeling Slot doesn’t think he’s ready yet, so maybe it’ll be Gomez.

Think I would prefer Gomez to get a run.

FFS huge blow that. Konate is a huge asset to our system. He literally owns a quarter of the pitch and winning headers in both boxes.

I would go with Gomez after seeing his CB performance against Brighton which was 2019 Joey.

Give Gomez a go, if he isn’t up to it and Quansah isn’t ready then we should be dipping into the ol’ mercado in January.

I've got no problem with Gomez playing fwiw but why are people so down on Quansah?

He was great last year, played himself into the England squad. Has he really shat the bed so badly in his 227 mins this season that he's now behind the perennial scapegoat Gomez in the pecking order?

Most posters would have sold Gomez years ago and most of us were really impressed with Quansah 227 mins ago!
