^^
Played it years ago and whilst I didn't like it quite as much as MGS3 I still enjoyed it.
The cut scenes are ridiculously long though, and parts are slightly confusing if you haven't played the whole series (including MGS1 on the Playstation).
Would recommend buying it, you can probably get it dirt cheap from somewhere like CEX.
Thought I'd double posted, smiley fail
If you're a fan of the series and into the story then yes definitely.
However if you don't care about story and just want a blockbuster style action shooter then don't bother. There wasn't actually meant to be another MGS after #3 but because of fan demand to explain a lot of the story Kojima was sort of forced into making it to tie up loose ends, which is why there's a lot of cut scenes.
Don't be mistaken though it's not just cutscenes, the gameplay is very very good and as it is a stealth orientated game it can give you quite a lot of hours. It is a very fulfilling game if you want to go for the trophies too (I found that anyway).
MGS is one of the best games ever , havent played the more recent stuff but who could forget swapping controller ports to outfox the telepathic boss?
and squezzing tomato sauce on the floor and then lying on it to escape jail
^Meryl's radio code being on the game case too
Great game ,Still have my Launch copy ,They have patched it so you earn trophies from it now but no more online mode
Preferred 3 myself, it was confusing in aspects but probably because I hadn't played the first in ages
well cheers for the input guys. heading into town tomorrow so i'll (hopefully) find myself a cheap copy in Game/CEX
i was a right glory hunter with MGS, i'd never even come across the series until i spent a night at a mate's house playing Sons of liberty til the early hours of the morning
got me hooked on the series, bought copies of 2 and 3 and played them religiously. even bought a copy of Twin Snakes but it turned out to be broken
