We just gave him a new contract in March.
We're stuck with him.

No we're not. Cut our losses and get rid before the window closes. If we can't get rid of him we'll just have to write it off as a bad debt.
One way or the other the penny needs to drop, Samaras is not an option. I say this not just for footballing reasons, but because a sizeable rump of the Celtic support have had it with him and won't wear it anymore. I'm sure (hope) that deep down Neil Lennon knows that too.
Old Firm unite at last and tell the truth about Lenny and Ally.............refreshing stuff.
However, with little money or cheap new talent about it will be hard to turn things around. That said, both managers could do worse than listen to fans regarding tactics and players as the flipping obvious appears to pass by both "rookies".

Whether he reads this or not I'm sure -and hope for his sake - he gets the message that was ringing loud and clear in his ears last night.
I'm with the OP.
In one respect, Lennon's hands are tied, I fear. He's in the job precisely because he WON'T bang the directors' door down demanding cash for a striker.
That said, he needs to drop the big man. It's a pity Greece is going down the toilet, as we could mibbe have sold him to one of their clubs.
Who would buy Samaras?
"That said, both managers could do worse than listen to fans regarding tactics"
You're joking, right?

SAMARAS IS BEST PLAYED UP FRONT ON HIS OWN IN A 4-5-1 FORMATION.
LAST TIME I'M SAYING THIS!!!

The fans,or the intelligent fans often see it as it is and as there are thousands of us a few may have relevant constructive advise.
Do you think Ally and Lennon are over burdened with football knowledge, tactis etc?Are you joking too? They are two youngish managers starting out and have loads to learn.
Of course, many fans are daft and will talk rubbish, but filter the good stuff.Big society, football style pal.
Samaras had a better game than Stokes last night, GET STOKES OUT!
A sizeable slice of the Celtic support are fed up with looking at his moany face and baldy heid, Lennon would do well to listen to the fans...
"Do you think Ally and Lennon are over burdened with football knowledge, tactis etc?"
No, they are inexperienced.
"They are two youngish managers starting out and have loads to learn."
Not from people like us they don't.
McCoist spent years working with Walter Smith, on the training pitch and in the dugout. Lennon was one of the most positionally aware midfielders of his time, and played under Martin O'Neill at 3 different clubs.
Do you genuinely believe you could tell them a thing or two about football?
Hector, jaysus but you are some eejit. Are you sure you a Celtic fan at all? I suppose with a fanbase of Celtic's size there's bound to be an odd walloper like you around.

Barcelona if you were to take your logic to it's conclusion, no manager would ever get criticised by any supporters ever. Of course Lennon and McCoist know more than any of us, that's one of the reasons they are in the job. That doesn't mean they get it right all the time on everything.
In Lenny's case, a manager that I've said has shown some promise, he appears to get it wrong about Samaras in particular. In run of the mill league games he hardly ever picks Samaras, but in the big ties in Europe and against Rangers he feels the need to change his system to accommodate him. I know Samaras played last night mainly because Hooper was out, but Lenny needs to stop thinking about Samaras as an option because he doesn't deliver the goods often enough. Either that or Lenny should nail his colours to the mast and pick Samaras all the time. My choice would be to leave him out full stop.
If Samaras is not good enough to play against Dundee UTD and Motherwell etc. then he's not good enough v Rangers or in Europe. Leave him out and punt him if possible.
