Arsene Wengers Magic he wears a magic hat
It's all about getting support to Giroud quickly; it's the same reason he looked so good at the start of the season when he had Walcott making runs off of him.
He doesn't have the pace to stretch teams, and his play is based around dropping off, linking-up-play, and playing one-and-two touch play on the half-turn.
It's no wonder he's been struggling when he's had creative players who don't make runs-in-behind (Cazorla, Wilshere, Rosicky) playing off of him down the flanks.
Get runners in and around him, and he's a very good player, IMO. He's not world-class by any means, but I think people are mistaken if they think buying a new striker will solve all our problems. Giroud's poor form has been symptomatic of an imbalanced system.

I think Walcott was out during Giroud's best spell. But your point stands.
Giroud was still awful all game thankfully his best moment contributed to a goal. Must not be a starter regardless of formation next year. Can't watch that week in week out again!
Giroud was poor but his assist was immense. Certainly upped his game when Sanogo came on

My mistake, but glad we can still agree on the crux of the point
Thought Giroud played well today. Thought everyone played well after the opening 8 minutes in all honesty. Sanogo is absolutely hilarious, it was almost as if he was a separate attraction to the match itself. He was appalling, yet effective, but somehow had no end product
He was appalling, yet effective, but somehow had no end product.

This is exactly how I would describe him.
He has absolutely no control over his own limbs and yet somehow he manages to pop up and create chances and get in shots on goal.
No doubt he will start scoring soon but I have no idea if he is good or if the opposition don't understand how to deal with him.
Sonething abiut Sanogo makes me really like him. Just a feeling he'll become one of Wengers success stories. Once he gets going he won't stop and one day we'll all love him

I said the same so many times. You put it maybe in better words than me. Spot on!
Giroud's touch was poor but fair play to the guy, he didn't half put in a shift. Very good effort to chase down and track back, and could easily have got a goal with the amount of mistakes he pushed the Hull defenders into.
Sanogo, meanwhile, is about 80% leg as far as I can tell, watching him run with the ball at his feet is like watching a ten-year-old who's suddenly morphed into Peter Crouch's body. But again, he put in some good effort and got into some decent positions.
Sanogo is "striker" who never looks like scoring therefore he is useless .Never want to see him in an Arsenal shirt again. He is just a joke.
should have read "a" striker.
his presence made a difference when he came on
