We've got to give him time. And I think we will. He's Psycho, after all. And I think Fawaz will want to give him time, too - he wanted to give Billy time but Billy didn't let him. We should at least be competing for the playoffs, though - if we don't lose all our best players.

I agree with Psycho that the squad doesn't need to be as big as it is, but the difficulty is reducing it by the right players!!

Anybody think the new CEO might be Frank Clark? and yes we all need to get behind the team, especially on the pitch, but off too!

yes, fully agree mate, would love to see Frank brought back into the fold.
i can only imagine Billy and his cohorts behind his removal last time.
what on earth did he do wrong to get the push ?
it was a sad day when it happened, so it would be nice for the new regime to welcome him back.
he didn't deserve it !!

Well 9 players have been released already so the reduction has begun!
I don't think we will have a problem holding on to our best players what with massive reduction of the wage which i reckon is between 3 and 5 million.
We are looking in fine shape to bring some quality and the reduction in squad size should hopefully boost morale.
I think the fans and more importantly the chairman will give Stuart the time needed to build.
When he talks its sensible and commands respect as opposed to repeated phrases and personal vendettas.

Wasn't Clark removed before Davies and co returned? Can't remember the exact timeline and happy to be proved wrong.
I hope that should Derby to up on Saturday that it won't increase the pressure on Pearce to do likewise next season. In reality, it probably would as there will always be comparisons between the two clubs due to what has become a bitter rivalry recently (although with the removal of Davies, things may calm down a bit when Forest and Derby next meet).

"Wasn't Clark removed before Davies and co returned?"

I think the majority of the sackings did happen just before they returned but it sounds like it's considered a given that he was involved in those decisions.

Clark isn't a CEO - we need a business man in that role.

"If we are not in the top 6 by Christmas I'm not too concerned, neither will I be if we are not there at the end of the season..."

Well to be honest I will be. With the players we have available we could pick a team to beat most of our opponents next season, even without new strikers as was shown in the first 15 games or so last season.

What prevented us making the top six at least was the injuries, and the manager diverting his attention off the field of play.

I admit it will take a while for the new manager to get the team playing exactly how he wants; but we have a very good keeper, four good solid defenders who are happy with the ball at their feet, and a midfield other clubs can only dream about.

Even in the first 15 games it was clear we needed someone to finish some of the chances off. The only reason we was scoring consistently was purely the amount of chances we was making. We also was drawing too many games under Billy even when injury issues weren't so rife

Good points Ray, we did draw matches we should have won. I'm not sure if that was down to the manager's tactics or the players' lack of confidence.

One thing I will be interested in when the season starts is how many we will leave upfield when we are defending a corner. I always thought Davies was a 'negative' manager who worried too much about the opposition even when most people would suggest we had the far better players on the pitch.

Webbo know's

what? come on give us some clues what has Mark whispered to you?

We lost a load of points under Davies because of his frustrating tactics, namely sitting back and defending a narrow lead, especially when we were on top. Hopefully we'll have none of that under Stuart Pearce.

It's funny that even with our terrible second half of the season, we'd still have got a playoff spot if we'd won all the points we threw away using this tactic.

Sitting back and defending a narrow lead can work; with a full strength back six that is. We won the League Cup doing that. Shilton in goal with a back four of Anderson, Lloyd, Burns, Clark with McGovern and ? playing in front of em'! Can't remember his name.

Here is today's quiz question; who won the penalty?

I would like to see people talk about forest in a positive way.

Next season should be a season of getting the press and the impartial back on our side.

Oh and can we win some games and score some goals as well please? That'd be nice.
