Alonso is always referring to us and constantly addresses the media when we are in a certain situation, I think anyone who played at Istanbul 2005 will keep Liverpool close to their hearts.
As for everyone else, they don't need to continually thank the previous club who gave them their shot. If that was the case, then without Southampton, Bale wouldn't have even got his chance at Spurs. A footballer has hundreds of people he has to thank for getting them where they are (as do most succesful people). That doesn't mean they must get a tattoo on their arm expressing their gratitude. So long as they keep them in their heart and respect them, that is enough in my opinion
What a god awful, and ultimately pointless, article.
But if he was to support one team at the end of his career, Alonso would almost certainly choose Real Madrid. You could see how much he cared yesterday.
Brilliant, Brilliant comment from Chambers
I find it hard to side with people who demand that players stick by us. Sagna for example. Yeah, we 'stuck' by him through his broken leg and some people have used this as a reason that he should stay and not leave for City.
But our actions were more out of our needs than his. If we had some world class right back waiting in the wings you can bet your arsÄ— that we'd pretty much drop Sagna completely when his form dipped than 'stick by him'. As it is we had Jenkinson, a good player but nowhere near in terms of pure defensive ability yet.
I think we've just got to accept that nowadays players will be less attached to clubs and if we do this we can probably feel better for it. To be honest trophies help a lot too, I think there's a lot less bitterness for players leaving when we're winning things

Talk about an under statement, probably one of the worst articles seen in the sites history.
And of course Mascherano dedicated the 2011(?) CL win to Liverpool fans.
