PC gaming is a possibility but depends on your computer. The games are much cheaper on Steam than the console and the sales blow them out of the water but if your PC is not that good the sales aint gonna help you if you can barely play the games. I own most consoles (yet to buy new gen as i dont see the point atm) and my preferred platform is the PC but i will be honest i have spent a lot of money on my PC. However, there are some very good indie games out there that dont require so much power and can be played but this would mean you have access to maybe only 20% of the games available.
Not gonna lie I torrent most single player games I want but always buy multiplayers, don't work if you torrent a game
You are going to have a better gaming experience if you invest into a top quality machine, exceeds in each department compared to consoles
I have spent maybe 50-100 on games since building my machine, wait for steam summer sales and humble bundles, prices go very very low
My computer is decent enough, 8GB, 3.1GHZ, GT 640 graphics, so from what I've seen it run hold quite a few games?
All is good except the graphics card. It will play most new games at low to medium settings - here I am talking the likes of wolfenstein/watchdogs/titanfall. And I am the same as Ramsey. Sp I torrent (playing watch dogs as we speak) and mp I download. Your gpu probably has about 18 months left to play the newer games before it starts to struggle a little.
I buy all of my games you hooligans. Anyway, go PC. If you have a decent setup you will save so much on the games from sales. Also, the immersion level and quality of PC games > console games. I've been a console gamer for most of my life. Haven't looked back since I switched over.
Simon gotcha
Right now I'm only interested in PC exclusives, got watchdogs pre ordered for PS4, which in a honesty wasn't the wisest decision when I bought it last year...
What type of games interest you..genre wise.

Nah is prob the best option. Will offer better performance on the ps4 and it feels more consoley, some stuff is hard to do with mouse, and when I drive I use my 360 pad
RtM-on consoles I usually play games like FIFA it gta but on PC I'm inclined to go for strategic games you know, the kind of stuff not really on consoles.

In that case check out:
Civilisation 5
Total War
Dawn of War (think this is currently 50% off on Steam atm)
Company of Heroes
Crusader kings 2 is quality as well if you take the time to get into it
I will add to that.
Galactic Civilizations 2
Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion
X3: Terran Conflict (not for the faint hearted, criminally complex)
Also, if a fan of RPG's, Divinity 2 is available for a few bucks on Humble Bundle weekly sale. Quality game that is so underrated.
So I downloaded CIV V; found it a bit confusing at first but got hang of it. Didn't realise how much time you end up spending on it!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh yeh, biggest time sink known to man. Its terrible as you look at the clock see its 10pm, you say to yourself just another few turns, capture this city and send a few armies across the see
..........then its 4am!
Least it will keep me occupied during boredom.
I was just playing that last night....started at 9pm.....turned off the pc at 3am. 2nd day playing same game. Still not done.
