I don't really get why people are talking about Poch not doing anything special at Southampton.
===============
Exactly. All managers have to start somewhere and they should start at the bottom, prove themselves, move up (to bigger) and so on.
Too many times do we see managers from foreign leagues just be handed a top managerial post based on achieving outside our league.
Prove you can improve a club in our league, then gradually move up.
I thought Sherwood should have been given a go but out of the people on the reported short list, i'd have gone for Poch.

Hello mate,hope you're well
I thought a month ago Poch was totally unrealistic, but I'd be surprised if he actually does take the job,
He's got a great squad, great support at Southampton, I'm not sure even he know's what he's letting himself in for at Spurs
3.5 mill a year would tempt him thudd
Pochettino has taken a team that was only promoted 2 seasons ago to competing in the top half of the table, while playing some fantastic football in the process. What's there not to like?
Cue standard song from fans
Pochettino, he's a y!do
I am a bit sceptical about him. I think its a risk, however I am more than willing to give him a shot.
what I think I am most pleased about is that he has taken a set of average to good players at Southampton and developed them into a team which is more than the sum of its parts.
at spurs we have good to very good players, so if he can turn us into a team that is more than the sum of our parts then we have a bright future ahead.

He inherited a good squad, but I'd like to compare each individual player with our current squad
Lallana vs Lennon - Lallana wins
Shaw vs Rose - No Brainer, Shaw
Lambert vs Soldado & Adey = Lambert
Schneiderlin vs Sandro = I'd take Schneiderlin
Fonte & Louvren vs our CB's = Take them both

And Adebayor is definitely better than Lambert.
I'm a huge Lambert fan
"Nah, things clearly haven't been right at Southampton for a few months."
Threat of new ownership.
Likely asset-stripping of your best players in the summer.
It would take a very resolute mindset to want to rebuild from that position each season.

Haven`t Spurs beaten Southampton the last 3 times the clubs have met, so not quite sure why you think every Southampton player is better than what Spurs have, Spurs finished miles clear of Southampton in the prem, despite playing rubbish for most of the season.
I didn't say every player, only the ones listed above
