A lot of clubs "promote" youth because "necessity is the mother of invention" for them.
I have no complaints whatsoever about the development path the Academy set in place for the kids.
At the very minimum Walker/Naughton/Caulker/Livermore/Rose/Townsend have been PL standard. 6 players emerging out the other side in 3 seasons.
if he can turn danny rose into anything other than a big pile of poo of a left back, then he is a genius.

I think Kane will shine for you lot, providing Poch shows the same faith in him Sherwood did.
For the first time we have a good youth set up, the days of Lee Barnard, Paul Ifil and Dean Marney are long gone
"Get rid of Rose."
You can see what the Pochettino work ethic is.
Rose will either improve to the required standard, or get rid of himself by January.
Rose as a left-winger instead? He can't defend for toffee, his positioning is woeful and he doesn't seem to possess much of a football brain, but he's built like a tank, can get up and down the pitch, and puts in a decent cross.
I don't think he's good enough full stop, but he'd certainly cause me less stress if he was playing further forward.
"For the first time we have a good youth set up"
Getting to the 'class of 80-81' across the board would be a start.
"Rose as a left-winger instead?"
That doesn't seem to have worked out (his intended future ?? ) .
If Spurs had a left-sided version of Lennon then IMHO you could at least try "total football" with Rose.
Just sign a new LB and keep Rose as back up
Rose was a left winger for a long time only reverted back due to previous management, he'd do a great job at West Ham or Newcastle
Agree with the OP, other than that having a spanish speaking manager should improve Soldado. Realistically, the language you're spoken to shouldn't really affect what you're doing on the pitch.
Saying that though, Pochetino managed in La Liga when Soldado was a beast, so hopefully he'll have a bit more faith in him, knowing the striker that he was / can be.
Rose should be sold immediately. New LB and Fryers as back up is good enough.
If Lamela plays to the potential that we think he can then Eriksen will have an even better season with all the extra space created.

Rose is better than Fryers imo
Scored a bullet header against Stoke and caused a few own goals with low crosses. I'm not saying he's the answer at left wing, I'd much prefer Eriksen or Chadli drifting in from that side, but as long as he's not anywhere near left-back, I'm happy.
Who do people want as left-back next season? BAE hasn't exactly set the world alight at QPR and is not the player he was a few years ago. Never seems to have recovered from that bad injury and the fact AVB didn't fancy him.
A cheeky bid for Shaw, using the Pochettino connection, would be a very wise move, but his head may be turned by the money and prestige of playing at Old Trafford for Man United. He's also a boyhood United fan apparently, so he'd probably favour playing there, even though I think he'd suit us much better.
Cole? Can't see him coming. Contreao? Played in the Champions League final and seems to have Ancelotti's backing, so can't see him coming to us anymore. Maybe Ben Davies from Swansea? Always impressed me, but it would be a big risk, and there's on guarantee he'd be an upgrade on Rose.
Stop reading after the words 'Kane' and 'superb' were used in the same sentence.
It's worth bearing in mind all those top players were at Southampton before he arrived. He defo made them better though, which is the important thing. To be honest, you couldn't even speculate who is going to work. We've tried the hottest property in Europe in terms of management but the most success we've had recently was with someone considered a wheeler-dealer bottom of the table expert. How can we ever know whether Pochettino, De Boer, Van Gaal or an of the other candidates would have clicked with us. It's a total guessing game.
HEY FRIDGEBOY LEAVE THOSE KIDS ALONE
You don't have the youth players or system Saints do!!!
