Feel sorry for Southampton. I hope they don't end up getting harvested of all their good players now. A lot of work has gone into developing them. Be a shame to see them picked up by likes of spurs, and probably see their development decline.
I wouldn't want to see Southampton harvested like the above post.
'see their development decline'
£86 million ring any bells
World record transfer fee
Lallana and Shaw aside, I'm not sure its a good idea to go after his former players at Southampton. Saints will be loathe to sell them to us and the asking prices will be inflated as a result.
The other guys you mentioned are all good players, but their performances of last season were, in my opinion, due more to Pochettino's system getting the best out of them than their own innate talent.

Not sure about development decline. Over the years they've lost the likes of Shearer, Bale, Walcott and Chamberlain but continue to produce good players
I think the war chest will include money from the sale of a few of our recent signings but i wouldnt be suprised if we get one of Lallana or Shaw if not both. There's a lot of love at sounthampton for Potter. !!!
We only really need Shaw.. take the 20m from the CL final plus whatever we can get for Livermore and Benny
Apparently Messi didn't have the best of seasons at Barcelona. He might fancy a new challenge?

Two out of four developing into true world class talent demands total
"He might fancy a new challenge?"
And Baldini is in Barcelona as we speak ...
