Coleman
Juanfran
Abate
Van der wiel
Aurier
Jesus Gamez
Santon
Debuchy
Would be delighted if we could secure Aurier, as looks a quality player. Appears to be a typical AW signing.
Major cop out but I don't know enough about any of these players to make a choice.
We need one/
Not sure about Aurier. I don't watch him regularly but drom what I have seen he's very attacking. Seems more Eboue than Sagna to me.
I know he can play at CB but it's in the same way Vermalen can play LB. Doesn't mean he can do a brilliant job there. And then there's also the ACON problems. I'd much rather get an experienced RB that can rotate wiyh Jenks and allow him a chance to prove himself
My problem with signing someone like Juanfran is that within 2-3 years, we'd probably find ourselves in the same situation of having to sign a replacement because of his age.
I really like the approach Liverpool have taken to transfers over recent years: sign players that are good enough to contribute to the team immediately, but also young enough to potentially improve, provide the team with years of service, and give the potential for resale value.
The problem I have with buying players around the age of 28-29 is that you will almost inevitably have to replace them within a few years, meaning resources are being spent just so maintain squad quality - not necessarily improve.
I guess such a signing might be a sign that Wenger believes Jenkinson will be ready in a year or two, but even still, for the reported prices, signing someone like Aurier seems to make much more economical sense.
Give it to Jenko but bring in a solid if unspectacular backup in case he fails.
Good list that Ramböue mate, let's break it down, like a bad DJ;
Coleman - Stellar season for the Toffees, what a moment for him & his family! I'd imagine Everton will need a serious amount of cash flashed to get their interest on young Seamus, might be worth it though!
Juanfran - An obvious target, I'd love him, but I think Atletico might dig their heels in.
Abate - Again, not a bad shout. Has 2 young children that he's determined will be schooled in Italy however, so that might be a potential pothole, metaphorically speaking.
Van der wiel - Has had a bit of a bad time at PSG, I really like his style, he might not be a bad shout you know!
Aurier - Seems an obvious candidate.
Jesus Gamez - Mr. Consistency, or Señor Consistency for Málaga, although I think he'd be a bit of an outside punt at best.
Santon - Hmmm, not so sure on him.
Debuchy - I'm a fan, but his tendency for the irrational would bother me a tad, that said, there's hushed talk that Wenger might make a play for the French 1st-choice rightback (Deschamps prefers him to Sagna) and loan them Carl Jenkinson for the season, that could be a win/win situation!
Dastudogg what do you make of Lambert signing? A ready made solution if Suarez packs his bags?
My problem with signing someone like Juanfran is that within 2-3 years, we'd probably find ourselves in the same situation of having to sign a replacement because of his age.
==========
In 2/3 years time Jenkinson will be 24/25 and should be approaching his peak. Bellerin will be 21/22 which isn't too bad for a back up.

Moist all your suggested names indicate that you have already given up on Jenko 'for a few years'.
Don't underestimate the time it takes for a full back to adjust to the league and what Arsene expects of them. Monreal has not done well. Neither did Santos before him. And so bringing in a permanent solution, in my opinion will not only destabilize a defense which is still fragile against the better teams but also under values Jenko's progress.
I don't care if we're signing a player to be really good for 2-3 years, it's worth it in my opinion.
There are plenty of players around to replace outgoing ones, without a proffesional scouting system RamBoue has listed 8 players who are all pretty good.
I'm one of the few who is relieved Sagna is leaving. Our type of play is very much dependent on attacking fullbacks who can go beyond the center line.Sadly Sagna was not that good at that.
I wouldnt mind Debuchy!May not be defensively solid but has a great engine and will improve our attack immensely.
too much risk with Aurier.Debuchy is a no brainer along with Remy.
Replacing Bacary
Sounds more like a Chinese bloke trying to fix his remote control.

You untamed wit, you. I applaud you.
jenius, I was a little surprised to see that Liverpool are close to signing Lambert, as his signing does seem to go against everything I said above about their transfer policy.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Suarez go, but I'm not sure Lambert is the replacement per se. Liverpool looked really good in their diamond system at the end of last season, and having two mobile, channel-running strikers was a big reason for their success, IMO.
Lambert's got great link-up play, but I can't see him stretching teams like Suarez.
I think there could be a change in system to a more traditional 433, with Lambert as back-up to Sturridge as a 'false 9' type striker (I think Sturridge's ability to drop-off, link-up play, and play through balls is very underrated).
If Suarez stays, he could operate as a wing-forward, with Sterling on the other-flank.
So my only thinking is that perhaps Liverpool could be moving more towards a traditional 433 similar to Southampton, in which case, I can see why they would sign Lambert.

I so want Jenks to prove me wrong, but I'm just not totally sold on him for these reasons;
Positionally (imo) he's suspect, I know he's young, but there comes a time when you have to tell your kids to 'sh !t or get off the potty & stay in nappies'.
He has a tendency to go to pieces if and when he makes a mistake, again, age can determine that kind of thing, but there's little room for mental fragility at the top level.
He's a great lad, has a great engine and looks a real athlete, he can cross the ball fairly well and is pretty quick.
Personally I think he needs a loan at a decent(ish) Prem side where he'll play a lot of games over the course of a season (Newcastle?), to throw him in at the deep end and make him the immediate heir to Sagna's throne would be a massive gamble in my opinion.

I've nothing against Jenkinson but he is pretty far off the level required to be first choice right back for a team that wins trophies on a regular basis like Arsenal do.
Might be more suited to the likes of Chelsea or Utd

Yep im in the Sagna out camp too. If you watch him closely all he goes is get the ball out wide and then pass it infield. On the rare occasion he crosses it the strikers just don't knows its coming so dont bother making runs.
IMO on balance Aurier would be the better option (also considering Jenks). He is one of the most accomplished RB’s in Europe and would be in AW’s price bracket.
Let's go mental and get Dani Alves for a season.

Hmm, or he didn't cross it in because usually it's 1 v 4 in the box. Either way I think Bac will be a massive miss in my opinion.
In a team full of attacking talent I was quite happy having someone out there who was a really good defender, wouldn't be surprised to see him move into centre half in the next season or two like Thuram or Abidal.
Jenkinson has done well whenever he's had a run on the team. Its when he's asked to cover for a game or 2 when he struggles but any player would. It's too early to dismiss him. He needs to be given a better chance first
Jenko lacks consistency. But he has proved on occasion that he has the ability to play against the best of them. IMO Bayern Munich away game last season comes to mind as a turning point. Consistency only improves by playing and getting used to team mates.
Just look at the list of full backs we have brought in and failed. Just because a name seems good on paper does not mean that he fit into our system. I have to stay we have to go with Jenko. But have a backup ready. in case he has a crisis of confidence.
Whats the point of youth system and merit based progression if you are not going to use it?

I agree. Sagna does remind me of those two players.
Could have provided very decent CB cover.
He's essentially going to City to provide RB and CB cover so it's definitely about the ££££
