I'm not just asking for depth, I'm saying that IF (big or little as you want) Kaboul gets properly fit that's all we need. Just my opinion

also I think we need 5 centre backs who have the ability to play in the first team at least occasionally.

4 centre backs is what most clubs have, but due to our involvement in the EL, plus our terrible injury record year on year, I think we need that extra bit of cover. I am happy for that to be Velkovic if the staff feel he is good enough,. but it has to be somebody !

Just to make it clear, Garay is extremely unlikely. He's arguably a top 10 CB who plays for a club which demands big fees for it's star players. Plus Bayern are rumoured to be interested

Any ITK on Kaboul's injury status?

As far as I'm aware it's been a succession of small injuries following his knee surgery that have held him back rather than one chronic problem.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah the knee injury was a ridiculous one and your right about the niggling injuries but he also had almost a complete tear of the calf at one point which is a horrendous injury so extended periods out did not help the knee recover.. Kabs was getting to the point of being able to play two games in a week so with a good pre-season he should be getting back to normality.

Kabs had his own training schedule which was much lighter than others so be interesting to see how it tallies up with Pochs impending fitness regime.

We should go all out for Lescott , Richards , and Caulker.

I'm sure Poch will bear his injury history in mind before scheduling him for double sessions.

Nope. Richards would be like for like with Kaboul.
Lescott and Richards sounds too much like 'Arry signings.

Caulker I agree with. Should never have sold him in the first place.
