I don't care if people claim I'm bitter, but Gerrard is bleeding useless for England,as is Rooney. I still think both should start, but I hope Roy has the spûds to replace them if all is not well.

Agreed. Not being bitter. If Lampard isnt worthy of a place, Rooney and Gerrard definitely arent. Give their place to the young guns.

Why does he always look like he's next up in the dock?
Plus he lost the Premier League for Liverpool!

so who should be england captain then? which player has the credentials?? please dont go saying phil jagielka ffs!!

Personally I'd go with Joe Hart,I believe defenders and keepers make better captains anyway,as they can see the whole game.
Plus they can go on for longer than midfielders or strikers and therefore build consistency into the team.

So if we do well you all will of course praise Roy!

Gerrard can only play the passes that are on.

England will fail and it will be Rooney and Roys fault (not the team)

really? the joe hart that was dropped earlier this season for his woeful inconsistency?
he really isnt captain material

Gerrard is Captain as he is the most experienced player. Once he steps down god knows who will be taking over.

Personally I dont think the role of 'Captain' is that vital on the pitch, but he seems to have helped united a young and talented squad unlike past Captains.

i prefer centremids and centrehalfs as captain

they're able to influence the most players from where they play

i prefer substitutes...they see everything AND can look at replays

fair point

subs who never play even better

3rd choice keeper maybe

posted on 8/6/14

3rd choice keeper will have the best view as they will be in the stands and probably a little higher up.
pegguy arphexad was an awesome captain...legendary
