If you were on the old 606 and recently on here. You would understand why England fans seem to be arrogant. Its simply because India fans were telling us how we were going to be demolished.. But its been the opposite and India have been demolished. India and Australia dating back to last winter can make up all the excuses they want.England are just a better test cricket team currently..
You think England fans are bad? Take a look at the Indiian fans on here
"England fans and media are going nuts over winning the series against and Indian team that is fatigued, and has little motivation to play cricket due to the congestion of cricket calendar."
-------------------------------------------------------------
if the indian team have little motivation for a series where they were defending their #1 ranking then they deserve to be called an embarassment
yes there are some valid escuses that indian fans could be making in support of their team but the lack of effort and spirit being shown by the indian team is unforgiveable imo
And if you're playing India are World Champs...so are England
"He is miles ahead of Strauss in terms of captaincy"
According to what?
Would those be the same 'disrespectful' England fans who have given Sachin a standing ovation every time he's walked onto or off a cricket pitch this summer - despite him having a very poor series by his own standards?
My own thoughts are that when someone chooses to highlight the most extreme comments of the moronic fringe, and then apply the blame for those comments to an entire nation, then that someone is trying to distract attention from the real issue.
Most England fans are interested in good cricket. Having said that, it's nice that England is once again the best test cricket team in the world; it's a status we haven't enjoyed since the mid- to late-50s.
I reckon most of the obnoxious comments are coming from Pakistanis living in England who see this as an opportunity to run their proxy holy war.
This OP is from someone who supports Arsenal and India. Two losers, no wonder he's upset.
Incidentaly, the IPL finished in May, two months before this series started.
I always had this opinion of the IPL. once India fall down the rankings the Bcci will push more for the ILP they may even push the start of it later on in the season so it finishes later.Causing issues with the England cricket season in June..
^^^ Not ILP but IPL but you get my meaning. ^^^
Excuses excuses, play it again Sam. I think everyone is having a go at India because they kept banging on about the number 1 ranking, probably because they knew in the back of their minds that India were not actually the best side in world cricket.
Special mentions go to Toofan and Hippocrite. Almost every Indian fan was guilty of this, the only exceptions were Medium Pacer, Speaking Civilised and vvsfan.
I wonder if Pox's question was:
If India was not the best side when they were #1, who was the best?
Hard to tell, I think SA were probably better than India at that point, their last 2 tours of India were both draws and they had just beaten Aus in Aus. However they lost their bottle and lost at home to Aus. I don't think until this series any team could claim to be better than any of the others. England are the only team that won home and away versus Aus whilst also have good records against India and SA.
I think it has been very tough to call recently, when we have a weak Aus team almost drawing in India, then India and England both managing close draws away to SA.
If we look at the results, India drew 1-1 with SA both home and away so you can't realistically claim one is much superior to the other. India have won at home and lost to Aus. Aus have lost at home and won away to SA. The standout is that England have beaten Australia home and away and have destroyed India at home.
England seem clearly the best currently but India did not seem to be undoubtedly the best team. They also did not play away from home against good opposition in their time at the top, when they finally played decent teams away from home they lost the top spot.
India team was never really a strong #1. They rarely won convincingly. They were rescued by Laxman in SL, and again in SA, and he was the star in their 2-0 home win over Australia (first test looked almost a certain win for Aus). During that period, SA had a very good opportunity to beat England at home. They should have won that series 3-1 but for their inability to dismiss England's #11 batsman on the final day in two matches.
India has been annihilated by England and media's criticism is not unwarranted. It should motivate them to tighten themselves up.

Read this. The best thing for Indian cricket is ridicule.
India are vein ridiculed for spoiling the cricket Summer
Nobody talks about the Test matches because no-ones interested due to the matches being totally one-sided
Maybe the OP wasn't here before the series. 90% of the wumming was being done by Indian fans, who have since evaporated into think air!
I personally don't think their wumming was 'disrespectful', just delusional. I have no problem with banter actually. Not sure why our Indian and Pakistani friends here can't do it without ethnic insults etc.
India have been humiliated but some Indian fans still have a sense of humor. A guy in the crowd had a placard that read, "DRAVID versus England".
Let's be realistic here.......
The Indians are being slaughtered here.
This is proper cricket. They really can't wait to get home and have another SLOG in the IPL.
Sehwag looks as though he's getting in some practice for tje IPL
The truth is that in being #1 India were extremely overrated, they cannot win much outside the sub continent at Test level.
In English conditions the series has shown that India cannot even reach the level of producing a proper contest.
