We have no pressure next season

New manager, new players making up half of the spine of your team, very short pre season to bed in, much weaker squad then 2 years ago, massive experience lost.

Need I go on?

I'm sure most Gooners won't agree with your "no pressure" theory
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed, there's ALWAYS pressure every season, it has just changed now to 'getting any trophy' to ' the title or CL trophy'
----------------------------------------------------------------------
exactly and that's how it should be at Arsenal, winning the FA cup puts more pressure if anything, you've got that missing trophy now, time to mive onto the big uns of league and cl.

Being title contenders and winning the title are different things.

You of all people should know this

Considering Utd were defending champions last season, what is wrong with it?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Probaly because it was the worst showing of a defending champion ever in the Prem league.1st to 7th, (to quote 50 cent) "damn homie, in high school you was the man homie, WTF happened to you",lol?

weak Mudd, we came out of nowhere to challenge but we'd allot more structure in place, united have no structure, a new manager, require new players etc.

Wht do you have to be so arrogant about it, chest out defying logic and reason?

posted on 9/6/14

I am not being arrogant, I am saying the players did not turn up for the manager which was a disgrace. They are all suddenly not crap and will provide a challenge.

Do not think we will win the league but we will challenge. What is arrogant about that?

But we beat Spurs twice, so what does that prove, nothing.
And you still came 7th, so you need to focus on getting back in the CL before you start talking about title talk.

Thats all we can do, but you must admit that Man U need the most work done out of the top 7 teams?

but you're ignoring the fact that the team that won the title 2 years ago is no longer at united. No Giggs, Rio, Vidic for starters, massive experience lost.

You won that title based on being the best team in both boxes in the league that season, RVP was on fire and the back 4 (2 of the stalwarts are now gone, plus Evra is not the same player) were top notch.

Also the continuity of Fergie and his way of running the club are gone, so many new factors this season to consider.

We do need to strengthen in some areas but I would argue Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs do as well

I know we all do, but do Man U need the MOST work, was the question?

posted on 9/6/14

I disagree, we still have a team of league winners and Vidic and Rio had already become bit part players. Vidic barely playing in our last league win and Rio playing once every couple of weeks.

The tools are there, just the right manager and a few signings and we are back in business

True, but united and Spaurs are starting from scratch in terms of a new manager and his ideas. It will take time for either man to implement his ideas and style on the team. Also you're ignoring the massive factor that is the WC and how it will have a huge impact on pre season.

LVG comes straigth off the WC into united, goes straight on tour, all the while trying to sign badly needed quality (not squad) players, he's about 5 weeks before the pl kicks off to do this.

but with no European football you will have more time on the training ground between games which will help but to challenge for the title you need to start well and have to be consistent across the entire season which means LVG has to have a massive impact immediatley, the vast majority of new signings have to hit the ground running and you cannot afford those early lost points that nearly every new manager suffers in his first few months.

We won 11 games on the bounce last season towards the nd of the season and still didn't win the tilte, goes to show just how hard it is to win.

United will probably challenge for 4th but there's a massive differenc ebetween a title and a 4th place challenge.

Who played across the back 4 in your last title win? I'm pretty sure one of Vidic or Rio was a big part of it, or are you sayign Smalling, Jones and Evans played the majority of games?

posted on 9/6/14

Evans and Smalling played the majority of those games. Vidic was injured for virtually the whole season and we had a makeshift back 4 for most games with Rio playing once every couple of weeks

posted on 9/6/14

Cauyse I've just had a look and both Rio (26) and Vidic (18) played more games then Smalling (10) Jones (13) and Evans played 21 games just slightly more then Vidic and less then Rio.

So Mudd you're completley wrong

Oh lord you're all over the place, Smalling played 10 league games in 2012/2013

Rio played the most games and Evans played 3 more league games then Vidic but according to you Vidic was injured all season and Evans played the majority.

Also for the record all stats above are league starts

Try again lad

rio played the most games of your defendes and smalling played the least, come on Mudd I'm looking forward to you explaining this one.

I'm tempted to make an article on this, show your lack of knoweldge about your club up and your delusion about how all you need is a new manager, loads of players and bang your back
