I sincerely hope not.

Good player but not the type of DM we need

Take him in a heartbeat.

Please nooooooooo

We seem to be attracted to injury prone players. He is quite a dangerous player in that he goes in very hard!

He would be a decent player to rotate with Flamini and Arteta but I won't get excited over a DM personally, whoever it is.

I thought he was an absolute beast at Man City. And City really suffered when they sold him, took them a while to replace him properly, arguably it wasn't until Fernandinho came to Eastlands that they had a natural heir to the position he vacated.

Like I say in the article, he's had an iffy time at Milan, injury-wise he's not had a good time.

But IF he could get himself physically right, at 29, surely he'd be a serious asset for a side willing to give him a chance?

Fans often complain in regard to the amount of injuries the club has endured, and while De Jong was a top player a number of years ago, he has been plagued by injury himself (is now too slow for the PL IMO) and at 30 he’s only going to be susceptible to more injuries.

Not for me.

Good player but only would use him as cover, we don't need cover though so no thanks

There is a reason why Milan want to get rid...same for Balotelli.

What we need at DM is someone who can move the ball quickly and comfortably but at the same time can play with energy all game. Someone who does what artetas job but better. A Sergio Busquets type

That IS a fair point.

But just because someone doesn't hit the heights at 1 club, doesn't mean they cannot elsewhere.

I'm not overtly suggesting Arsenal SHOULD sign NDJ by the way, just curious on peoples opinions.

Milan are likely to be having a mini overhaul this summer. Seerdotf out, Inzaghi in. And there's a feeling that the players are a divided bunch, with too many separate cliques in the dressing room.

Flamini is just as good

Apparently he's happy in his work in Milan.

So we need an exceptional passer, who can also tackle and run full pelt for 90 minutes - and is available?
Any suggestions?
Not being sarcastic, I jus don't think of too many players that fit that mould.
I can think of very good ball winners and I can think of some very good ball players and I can tink of some very good athletes -but combining all 3 AND finding someone available?
Pogba maybe?
Was talking about tis last night with a mate at a side
CM players just aren't as good as they were.
95 - 2005 was really something of a golden era for Central midfielders. Vieira, Keane, Effenberg, Davids, Makelele, Ince, Seedorf, Desailly, Sammer....players who could do it all.
There just doesn't seem to be the same abundance of quality in that position anymore.
Or is it because players just aren't allowed to do it all anymore? Has the game become too specialised? I mean, when Man City signed an unwanted holding midfielder from Barcelona in Yaya - did anyone think they were signing such a great all rounder? 6 goals in 117 games for Barca vs 51 in 184 games for City. I know which of the 2 Yaya's I prefer watching.

Not too bothered about this unsubstantiated rumours tbh. The only reason why there are so many new b/s rumours everyday is to make people click on the links so they make money off advertisements.

Nigel just needs this helping hand
And if young Nigel says he's happy
He must be happy
He must be happy in his work

I was caught up in a meeting, crazy scenes. Yes Darren, that was quite a witty comment and very much appreciated mate.

Naturally I think the references were/are lost on 90% of the readers not up to speed with British pop masterpieces.
