Financial reason being...?
That we didn't want to spend £30 million of our budget on a player Wenger doesn't think we need? Doesn't that count as financial reasons?

The buyback was there for a reason. Think of that

I think Ozil purchase decided this. If no Ozil then Fabs would be a Gooner again...£30 mil is still easy for us.....but Fabregas is no longer needed..
Because we have quite a number of areas to replace/improve, and we don't have the luxury to spend 30 mil on a player that we do not need.
If we do have 100 million transfer budget, Fab was ours already.
Have to say this is a very stupid way of looking at it, wenger didn't want fabregas and that is it no need to discuss anything else
Fabregas took a pay CUT to join Barca from us in 2011, so his demands can't have been that extortionate...
You guys pay big wages anyhow.........as already mentioned, you bought Ozil...........that made Fabregas an unneeccesary purchase..
Ask your self a question.............what would improve your team more, Fabregas or a top striker who scores 20 plus goals in a season?
Unless the striker is Cavani, I would pick Cesc.
Does not matter who he is, but what he does...

Think of it this way...Buying back cesc for 30 million will also cost Arsenal buy hurting Wilshere's first team opportunities (which a fit diaby, stop laughing, would already do). Considering supremely talented Zelalem will also be in line to get 10 odd games next season to aid he's development, it just makes no sense to spend that amount on a 27 year old...who's been playing first team football for 11 years now.
Do we need more world class players? You bet. But we have enough quality in midfield (and in the pipeline) to justify not blowing 30 million on what would be a luxury player.

it is if he didn't really want to come back to us and to compensate his pay cut over the years!
