Another thing I found a bit saddening is just how much of the criticism last night was along tribal lines, with so many users squabbling to point how "your players were worse than our players". Granted, we all tend to have a soft spot for 'our own' and are all guilty at times of wanting to point the finger elsewhere, but it's the national team for heaven's sake, they're not Liverpool, United or Arsenal players when they wear the 3 Lions shirt.

it's carried on to this morning
we had one of our best performances in ages yet because of a narrow result that could have gone either way (but unfortunately went against us) the knives are out.
completely on tribal lines
It's funny cos only last week I asked a couple of people who aren't really into football what it was about the World Cup that captured their interest. One of them said that she really enjoyed the fact that for a short period of time every four years, people get together regardless of their club colours and simply enjoy celebrating the game together. Celebrate the game itself, I think that's a nice idea.
England had 4 years to get "physically" prepared for the Brazilian temp. / humidity but it sure didn't look like it.
Also, the "glass always half full" approach to life if great, however, in the world cup it is all about WINNING or LOSING. England LOST!
The future is dark and full of terrors!
