The lack of excitement ??
We've all been talking about Cesc for days on the Chelsea board.
Maybe we haven't been talking about it as much as we like because every decent Fabregas article gets sabotaged by Arsenal fans looking to turn it into a fight because they are angry he joined us.
Probably won't be long before the same thing happens on this article.
The irony is that Arsenal fans only have their manager to blame for Cesc not going back to Arsenal.
Anyway Cesc will play in CM where he always used to play for Arsenal
A Cesc-Matic combo in CM would have a bit of everything and finally give us the balance we've lacked in this area for a long time.
We've had greats in Parker and Sidwell.

I see what your saying but his later years at Arsenal he was used behind the striker with Wilshere/Song/Denilson and occasionally diaby behind him. And then at Barca he was used in the 4 attacking positions. He hasn't played CM for a long time so might be a while before readjusting his game

There is a World Cup on at the moment.
We have signed Fabregas, it is done now.
We we will get excited about him as the start of the season nears, but for now there are more interesting things to get excited about..
Cesc seemed to have been moved around quite a bit but that's just a testament to his versatility.
Most of his career has been in CM so I see no problem there at all, especially as he'll have licence to get forward with Matic holding.
Dubbed, I think the problem that comes is that relations between the two sets of fans have become less than positive since the last season ended, as you have no doubt noticed. Needless to say, some fans on both sides are using this as a chance to hate on each other, making fabregas articles a risky business, even those with the best Of intentions.
Personally, I am absolutely delighted by the signing. I remember frequently saying that fabregas would be a perfect signing, though I'd never believed it would happen, and so hoped for someone more 'realistic' like Alonso or the like.
Cesc became more efficient behind the striker.

He's an excellent player and will be an excellent and much needed addition in a key area where we lack creativity. Bring on next season asap I say

I'd imagine there'd be a lot of excitement mixed in with a bit of caution in view of the fact he's been moved around so much at Barça that you can't just presume he'll slot back just fine into CM. I certainly think he can, but it can't be considered a given.

I think the Chelsea fans response to Fabregas is a tad underwhelming and the angst from Arsenal fans has been there, but slightly over exaggerated. If a handful rant about something it does not mean it is a majority view and not a meltdown as some have portrayed the Arsenal board..
Arsenal are quite strong in the areas Fabregas plays though it would not be harmful to have him.
