Xavi-GOAT

Iniesta overrated for me. Shone in a world class Barcelona team. Mate of mine had him in his World Cup 11 of our generation (94 onwards) whereas I had Ballack based on his 02 tournament.

I don't agree he is the GOAT. In fact, as a stand alone player, he was outstanding but not an all-time great but as a unit (with Iniesta and co), he is one of the finest players -let alone midfielder- to play the game.

Iniesta still has some life in him but frankly Xavi is finished at a top level both for club and international football.

PS

Far be it for me to kick a man when he is done but Xavi -öff the field has never been class, IMO. His conduct on the Fabregas saga, his derision of other forms of football, his outrageous remarks whenever Barca lost and almost never giving due to the victorious competition always rankled me.

In fact, i´d say it: off the pitch, Xavi lacked class!

Xavi is a príck off the field but then so were most Barca players.

Mr Tweedy, good shout on Ballack. 01/02 season he was fantastic and played better than I have ever seen Iniesta do.

Translation, "Iniesta is a great player but I can't think of any reasons why"

silly person

Iniesta is a great player because he is a vital part of a team

it is a team game, something so many of you numpties forget.

it is simple:

Xavi without Iniesta = not so good/effective
Iniesta without Xavi = not so good/effective
