"I know some knock our academy profile but it is actually pretty strong, one of the best in the country. "
The issue has been we don't know enough about who should be taking credit/blame for what has occurred over the past couple of seasons. That goes for Inglethorpe/Timmy/Ramsey or others.
Well RD, given that John heads it I guess he should take credit/blame.

No, Inglethorpe/Timmy/Ramsey etc should also be given credit/blame for whatever they contributed to the Academy during their time.
Interested to know how we will find out RD as I'm pretty sure the club cannot publish job performance reviews hence my comment about the buck stopping with the man at the top of that particular structure, John. The best we can hope for is the 'who keeps their job' litmus test.
I guess we can also apply the 'who has come through the academy and been a first team success' litmus test...

We won't (sadly) .

Tony Parks has departed apparently not because he is a poor GK coach, but because Pochettino is bringing in all his own coaching staff. Ramsey has probably suffered the same fate.

That is the bottom line for the academy.
I was talking more on the academy side RD since it is often common for trusted lieutenants to go with the guv. Seems to me that GK coaches don't fall into that category in all cases but Poch has one so I'm not surprised that Tony fell on his sword. As for Ramsey, as I say, he moved from the academy setup in December to be the first team coach so became 'associated' with Tim Sherwood. As for Sir Les, if he is judged on the success or failure of our goal scorers, well enough said...
The more I think about it the more I think it is important to have a trusted lieutenant that can bridge the gap between academy and first team to act as a champion of the yoof set-up. Tim Sherwood didn't seem to have that relationship with AVB and if he had it with Harry, not sure it was acted upon too often.

he also stuck by players such as Wes Brown and John O Shea, Evans, Fletcher for longer than most would have.
He also perservered with players with other players who looked raw to give a fair crack.
It's all well and good remembering the high profile players he shipped out, but also those in and around the squad that he kept that you seem to be forgetting.
