This was totally Englands fault

They were excellent in the Tests
and really poor in the ODI

when has test cricket in the recent past ever been competitive. one or 2 matches of like 100 matches have gone down the wire throughout the world......

India lost 2 tests by an innings last time around aswell. so that's 4 tests in about dozen or so tests. they have lost by innings.. winning 2 games..losing 9 in the last 3 series.

Well on India's last tour of England they didn't win a single game in any format. They have won the the ODI series and won it well before still utterly pathetic in the tests. One off T20 in a few days time.

That eng team in 2011 was really good. Not sure what would have happened to this team if we faced them then.

The problems is India haven't learned one bit since 2011.
Be interested to see what happens to the indian test team over the next 3/4 years. theirs optimism l there. I think Rhane will turn into a good player..
Pujara will pick up again.. Not sure on Kohli though.. Maybe he could bat 6.. and be more of an attacking player. rather than 4. theres a coupla good seam bowlers in there 2..
The problem with India mainly in the back up players. need 15/16 good players.. so theres always someone to come in and take an under preforming players place.

2011 and 2014 were different. Completely new set of players. That was full of experianced world class team, but failed collectively.

In 2014 these lot have never played in these conditions. Dont think they have ever played in swinging and seaming conditions ever and where the bounce was pretty good as well. They not only had to adjust with the bat, but also learn how to play the swinging and seaming ball. IMO that itself was very demanding.
