What a game today. This WC was so dull prior to the start of this game. Only Nzl and India are 2 teams that have lifted their standards for this tournament.South Africa and Australia are as good as they were prior to the start of the tournament where as others did not made any mark.
Great great game, looks like sa gt screwed by the rain again just like in 1992, but credit nz what a turnaround over the last few years in their odi team, hopefully it's ind vs nz final just because we've seen nz vs aus already and I'd rather watch a new game
Were SA really screwed by the rain?
NZ were set a pretty big target to get in 43 overs.
I am reasonably confident Aus can win, both teams have very strong batting line ups but I don't think India's bowlers will be as dangerous as Australia's.
Feel for South Africa. Was an excellent game though. Hope New Zealand win the world cup whoever they face.
Yh I think they were sa could have gt close to 400, makes a big diff to the team chasing when u see a score in the laste 300's, it was still a target less than 300 which has more margin for error, but again great game sa had their chance with steyn n that last over
Anyone watching world cup verdict? Laxman talk's a lot of sense.
plenty to talk about from yesterday's game:
- I wasn't impressed with McCullum. He should have laid a more solid foundation
- I WAS impressed by the guts the Kiwis showed to come back after a few wickets went down. It must be difficult to deal with such immense pressure
- Does anyone get the feeling this was the Kiwis final though? Can they raise themselves again? After playing all games at home and now it is the MCG also. Aus/India have been there done that
Another point/whinge. 1992. SA screwed by the rain. Errr, not really. My memory is that they were odds against to lose before the rain came down. Obviously the Duckworth/Lewis system (then in its infancy) made things look worse.
Laxman has been quality on the verdict. Talks a lot of sense and very unindian like.
Was the SA game the best of the tournament so far? All games seemed one-sided to me.

Little dig there.
How was the trip home
like Cheba I have always been a Aussie fan so still in the world cup
The Indian commentators in this world cup have been a mix bag:
Harshe - I like. Doesn't always bang on about India
Ganguly - Very stuck up
Dravid - Puts me to sleep
Gavaskar - He's decent
Mangrekar - Worst commentator in the WC
each to their own.
I don't give a spek...just looking forward to tonight's game.
Won't be able to watch much of it. Should have pulled a "I need to work form home today" jobby.
Of all the days, im in the office for 2..and it falls on one of those...hope it gets rained off, and re-scheduled for Friday
If its rained off then India go through to final as they finished top in group stage but there will be no rain.
I'm in two minds whether to wake up for this match.
Kash - wake up man. You'll love it. Aussis may have us up.
Im in a hotel tonight, so will set the alram for 4-5ish, and watch a few hours, drive into work at 9-10ish, and cricinfo the rest.
Or sneak into the server room, and get my iPad out

Lefty a few years ago at work, there was a period where I would do my work by mid morning and then watch the cricket.

No wonder, Kash is a cab driver, so doesent get that luxury.
Mind you, my work never gets done. Always some workshy lazy project manager on my case
Lefty it was only for a period. Then I looked for any excuse as to why my work was late
Really up for tomorrows game, India's bowling has been good...and the Aussies have struggled every time they have come up against a good bowling attack, this world cup. We'll, not good in general, more like when the bowlers have bowled well
