You know you're a sh it club when your club gives the Leon Osman's of this world a testimonial
Why Porto? Did you build up some European rivalry with them in the 80s or something?
??
I hope your reference to 80's European football is not some sort of sick joke TOOR.
As for the opposition, they never make sense. Giggs, Scholes and Gerrard.
Celtic, NY Cosmos and Olympiakos??

I don't know about the others but it's obvious why Gerrard's was against Olympiakos. That was the game were were dropping out of the Champions League, only for Gerrard to decide it wasn't happening and unleashing a trademark thunderbolt past the Olympiakos keeper. We then went on to win the trophy.
Ooooookay.
Why not Milan?

That would have been a fitting one also.
But why not milan.
It should have been seen as the defining game of his career.

Why not Olympiakos? It's seen as a defining game in his career.
So not THE defining game, just a defining game

There were many defining games, one was the Olympiakos game.
It was a fitting game for Gerrard's testimonial.
Thats your opinion......its wrong as usual
Surely Chelsea at Anfield last season was the defining moment of Gerrards career
Phil...
That was on my mind, but it would have been too easy to slip that in
With it being out only home game off the pre season then it has to be Osman's testimonial no matter what the opposition is.
I'll look forward to it,he's been a great servant to the club and only when he retires will some Evertonians realise what he's brought to the club over the years

Ba humbug, you had to slip the slip in didn't you
He has been fantastic on and off the pitch Phil
A good chance to thank Osman for his contribution to all the trophies Everton have won since he arrived
A testominal seems only fitting.
Has Borini ever won a trophy...
I know you have to be able to play football first
