It's all about the conditions.
Concacaf teams have played in the Copa America on occasion, in fact, in 2016 a centenary Copa America will take place in the US itself.
Until the World Cup is played on the moon then nations from a certain region will always have an advantage over others.
Eastern European sides will likely do much better in Russia in 2018 compared to a poor performance this time.
West Asian countries will likely relish 2022 if they can get there.
South Americans were always going to do well this summer in Brazil.
asia is pretty embarassing really
Chile came to Wembley and beat England so the South American teams are good and it's not just playing in South America but I agree this is some advantage. I think a more attacking ethos in South America as a way to beat the Europeans (possibly based on beating Spain's tika taka) may be in play.
in short this is more about location of cup than anything.
rkw is right with the cup draws as well as the location SA were always going todo well.
However the truth is if you go to any bookies there are 4 teams favorites fro semis, two SA, two europe
