Expect some pool fan hate.....but you're right.

3 times is unacceptable and for me only a life ban would have sufficed. Had you or I done it we'd be sectioned under the mental health act, a footballer does it and he continues to earn shed loads of cash and adulation!

Alvaro Recoba was banned for the same amount of time for having a dodgy passport. The punishment doesn't fit the crime.

The similarities between Uruguay and Liverpool are startling.

-Both were successful (a long time ago)
-Both are victims of conspiracies
-Both teams stood by their player (even if he is a convicted racist, biter, etc.)
-Both teams are disliked by the rest of the footballing world

The other thing that irks me is that had this been a fringe player like Martin Kelly they'd have bombed him out of the club faster than you could say muzzle, yet because he's a very capable footballer, suddenly it's not too much of a moral issue for them. Strange, huh?

Had I been Brendan Rodgers I'd have publicly transfer listed him before FIFA even decided on a ban.

I actually really like Liverpool, would rather watch a proper team like them win the title than Man City.

I was just thinking that for once the media hasnt had its "hound England player into hiding" frenzy that normally follows these displays.

I am just loving how ridiculous its all getting. I fully expect him to go one further and say that the Italian bloke (wont try to spell the name!) was trying to shoulder barge his teeth all game!

Martin Kelly is rubish, they should get rid, I could arrange for transport out of Liverpool to save them any trouble there

Did you really expect a club to kick out a player worth potentially £80m to just be exiled? Don't sit on a pedestal and pretend that other teams placed in the same situation would act differently. Talk to several Liverpool fans and they (including me) would say that they're tired of backing him and would like to see him go as long as we get the right amount of money.

These players are assets to a business, publicly coming out and saying he is to be transfer listed would mean we would lose tens of millions and with clubs still interested in him it would be pointless. I would think that any club in our situation would be facing a dilemma we are facing.

Can anyone explain Twitter!

I am a member although I never tweet and do wonder why I joined. If you go on someone (say a footballer) you will get some inane comment and then they get a shedload of abuse! Do people actively seek out the abuse or just ignore it? It seems there are some positive comments but mainly it seems to result in insults or Rio Ferdinand trying to make it seem putting the number 5 on a baseball cap is "design"!

Is it just me that doesnt get it???

Thing is, it's such an extraordinary situation that there isn't really a past precedent to compare to, so guessing what other clubs would do is pointless.

I can only speak for myself but I would care who it was - they'd be out. I would probably allow every player one indiscretion so long as they heeded the lesson but strike two and no chance, go and take your problems elsewhere.

I can sympathise hugely with Liverpool fans as players of his ilk don't come along every day, and credit to the fans too as most have condemned his actions, but I feel this guy is taking the p-ss now. You've supported and stood by him through two major incidents and bans and he's gone and done it AGAIN.

At what point do you draw the line?

"He didn't even draw blood"

I suppose by that logic you could poison or strangle an opponent. So long as they don't bleed (and it's done with passion of course) then it's ok....

What a ridiculous comment.

Up yours champers you conceited pr ick

football used to be played by men putting in crunching takles and getting stuck in, not rolling round ont floor crying like babies at the first point of contact

I support my home town team champers not someone else's

As for ridiculous comments....poison someone on the football field

Were you pals with harold shipman?

I was just adding extra momentum to your idiocy, which has reared it's ugly head again if you think the poison comment was in any way serious...

Nice touch with the personal attack though. Very classy

Your welcome

its all about opinions. ..feel free to have your own and disagree with mine, but when you start calling people ridiculous for having theirs dont be surprised when they have a pop back!

Cantona jumped into the crowd and kung fu kicked a fan but played on successfully afterwards!

Lifetime ban for suarez?...your avin a laugh pal

posted on 2/7/14

I didn't call YOU ridiculous, just the comment that because the bite didn't draw blood it shouldn't be treat as serious.

With regard to the Cantona incident, it wasn't as if he had a history of attacking supporters. There was also extreme provocation which led him to attack the perpetrator. I'm not condoning what he did, but it isn't really comparable to the Suarez situation.

Here you have a guy who isn't committing an offence for the first or even second time. Three times he has done this and despite being punished and forced to apologise, there is no evidence whatsoever that suggests he's learned from his mistakes. In none of the biting incidents could you cite any provocation either.

Believe me Waltz, I love watching this guy do the unbelievable sh-t he does with a football as much as you do. In terms of ability I'd regard him in the top 10 players ever to grace the Premier League, BUT, how can someone be showered with fame and fortune when they're continuously carrying out the kind of things that would see you or I sectioned under the mental health act at the very least.

Even now in his latest "apology" the opening of his statement claims that it was a collision which caused his teeth to make contact with Chiellini's shoulder. What utter crap. The world and his dog knows it was intentional. The guy is not learning at all and why should defenders have to risk getting bitten for just doing their jobs? Biting is abhorrent. I'd forgive someone for pinching me, but biting or spitting - f-ck that.

If not a life ban then a year at least, with a mandatory mental health assessment and suspended lifetime ban.

When I wrote the thread it was meant to be a light hearted one as I just found the idea of him doing it to avoid England getting bad press funny. I didnt think it would turn into a heated debate with things getting a bit personal!

I'll get the beers in and we can all chill and laugh at the goings on down the road!

With all the stuff going on with that convicted fraudster Im glad (and the players are too!) that we have Deano! He has had flack from fans over ticket prices and standing areas etc but atleast we are not trusting our lads to make a healthy balanced packed lunch! I bet Peltier is well pleased to be back when he hears whats going on!

On the points that fans moan at Deano for, with the early bird season card offers, the take 10 option (which I am doing this year) and the other ticket promotions that will no doubt come during the year then you cant say the club are not trying there.

With the North Stand season tickets and working with the fan groups over flags etc they are clearly trying to do something about the atmosphere and I wouldnt be surprised if the North Stand is successful this season and "safe standing" trials are allowed then we would be at the cutting edge of that.

On that basis I hope we shut up and get behind the team as I cant think of much else to moan about! I would like us to get a few new ones in but its also the time to see what the young lads can do (especially with Eyre stepping up to the first team). I reckon we will have a better season this year and if we can keep Vaughan fit for longer I am excited to see how he and Wells play together! Hopefully with a better strike partner he wont have to put himself at risk quite as much and can last longer in the season!

Also looking forward to seeing what Holmes, Lolley and Smith bring this year as they should be more first team regulars with Billing and Charles maybe the next to make a breakthrough.
