"When Arsenal moved from Saff London to Norf they basically nicked the local schools playing field and bull dozed lots of small houses without paying too much in the way of compensation so it’s a bit rich an Arsenal supporting chipping in. "
Apologies. I won't contribute to anything around this subject anymore because 101 years ago the club I support - not that I mentioned them - did a similar thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris - Arsenal also issued CPOs themselves when moving to Ashburton Grove.
Ethics do not come in to it. A CPO is something issued by the Local Authority having gone through the correct consultation process etc
They are issued when proposals are in the public interest and if the Spurs Stadium and the continued regeneration of the area is not in the public interest then WTF is.
With CPOs there is a fairly well defined definition of what an affected party is entitled to and it does not usually extent to compensation over and above the value of the land, costs of moving the business & compensation for disruption to business operation.
It is probably the latter point which is the contentious one and open to interpretation more. The Minister said that further submissions had to be made, so probably the company think that the offer made undervalues the disruption to business (because the other issues are fairly easily quantified)
When you sold Bale you held out till you got what you thought was your valuation,Archway steel are doing the same, pay the man the valuation of his business, he is doing exactly what Levy has been doing for years.
Playing hardball.
we have offered over market value
Doesn't matter as when the CPO comes in he will get just market value
So did Real Madrid.
When the CPO comes in eventually, some time soon?
The main stumbling block to the new stadium is currently the stand being made by Josif Josif & his family over the CPO issued on his premises in Paxton Road.

Sorry, the figures re valuation & relocation are set by the Local Authority under a CPO.
As I posted he has been offered full compensation & offered new premises at an advantageous price. There has also been a significant sum of money being offered by the club to facilitate the move.
Archway will not lose business over this & all their costs re new stationery, upgrading website etc will be met THFC Ltd.
Where is the hard ball in that?

So you have him over a barrel, then why is he been shafting you for the last eighteen months, and Chronic please try to be a bit more grown up.
Doesn't feel like greed, tbh. Feels more like he is just reluctant to relocate his entire business because a bigger company wants the ground.
Seems bang out of order to me. It's his property at his price - take it or leave it.

Haringey Council issued the CPO's just like Islington issued CPO's for the benefit of Arsenal's new ground.
CPO's only tend to be issued when it is shown that the region & local residents will benefit from any new building works.
The regeneration of Tottenham was discussed in Parliament after the riots a couple of years ago. Key to this regeneration was keeping Spurs in Haringey & making the NPD a central hub for the regeneration.
As for relocation, you obviously have not been along the Paxton Road, it is not the greatest for large vehicular access, which lorries delivering sheet metal & steel often require.
Where Archway are being offered as a new site is a purpose built facitlity with excellent access, and it is less than half a mile away!
So you have him over a barrel, then why is he been shafting you for the last eighteen months, and Chronic please try to be a bit more grown up.
It is not that simple, the CPO's have been with DCLG for over 16 months, when standard CPO's are normally processed and actioned within 3-4 months.
The other question that has been asked is there an Arsenal fan working for the DCLG & involved in the process???
"Where Archway are being offered as a new site is a purpose built facitlity with excellent access, and it is less than half a mile away!"
WHERE ??
RDBD...............................That is what has been reported!
I would suggest it might be up towards Edmonton, however not 100% sure otherwise!
So nobody is saying where, other than vagaries other than "up/down the road" . The specifics about the relocation specifically come down to :
1. relocation costs (loss of trade etc while the relocation occurs)
2. changes in OPEX costs (business rates, utilities etc)
3. change in transport access
#1 we assume will be fair recompense.
#2 should be no change (assuming the new premises is not significantly bigger) .
#3 depends on where the new premises are.
Currently they have WHL and Northumberland Park station round the corner, and fairly quick road access to the A406 / A10 / Meridian Way.
Do the firm actually own the land their premises are on, or are they leasing ??
Probably on the Mollison Way industrial estate, where else could it be within the area suggested?
"where else could it be within the area suggested?"
Anywhere within a circle centred at Paxton Road and having an 800m radius.
There's more to this than what is being reported, I have to deal with a lawyer involved in the sale.
They agreed a price only for Levy to do a Levy and drop the price just before they were due to sign.
They do not want to deal with Levy as a result of this
"They agreed a price only for Levy to do a Levy and drop the price just before they were due to sign."
Who are "they" (ie the land owners) ??
Archway agreed a price and Levy tried to stitch them up just before they signed
Agreed a price on what ??
Are they the owners of the land their premises are on ??
Yes, they own the freehold

not sure I agree with this.
If this was the case then the Government would have reached a conclusion very quickly. The fact it it has taken +14 months and further submissions were made to be considered suggests that an agreement was never reached
How do you know this may I ask?
I don't have any quarrels with the guys holding production up a bit. The delays will cost THFC more in the long run.
