"One name I’m surprised hasn’t been mentioned is that of Guillermo Ochoa, who is currently a free agent, and at 28 is young enough and hungry enough to bide his time for a starting berth."

Where have you been for the past couple of weeks? His name has been bandied about like sweets at a funfair, recently. In any case, he's a decent 'keeper, who's strung together some impressive performances for Mexico so far.

Not sure Wenger will go for him, though.

Here's to an arid summer (tautology?) in the transfer market.

When you say he's been bandied about, do you mean on these boards? Because I've been away from here for a while (been busy absorbing one hell of a World Cup) so I'm only going by mainstream media rumours.

Yes, on these boards. I say 'bandied about', but I actually mean 'having babies about'. Some of the praise warrants lapidation as punishment.

agree with most of it.

Vermaelen to man utd would add a CB to the list too

Good article, but I would have to argue that Arteta played well in the FA Cup Final.

Medel? Seriously?

Think Debuchy is going through soon. We signed a 19 year old goalkeeper from Finland appearently. Not sure if he is signed as our second goalkeeper or for the reserve.

I think reserve, that new youth coach doesn't seem to be messing with signings, I wish wenger was decisive like that

How is Sone Aluko barely mobile? A slippery and quite pacey eel, mark my words

In the first XI, Giroud & Arteta must be replaced if we really want to compete, there is no question about that.

As for RB, I'd personally like to hope with the financial firepower we have available, we could be a bit more ambitious than Debuchy.

I don't think you lot need to replace Giroud.

Well mate its a fashion and a sport on our board to make Giroud scapegoat for everything.

Gunnerthru, as I've got you here, I'm curious to hear what you think - this experiment with Howedes at left-back, is it something the German public agree with? Was it something Low was doing in qualifiers, or is a really sudden thing at this tournament?

I only ask because I'm baffled by the fact that Germany have one recognised full-back (Durm) in their squad.

Olivier Giroud leading the line for Arsenal football Club for a 3rd straight season. Criminal offense by Wenger.

Linked with Sanchez the whole season but will end up taking Kalou on loan
