JP's shares

Gotta say, the thought of JP owning all the shares worries me for all kind of reasons.

He's clearly had enough. I can't blame him in some respects. So are we getting closer to him selling up?

If he does, who on earth would take over and would they be better for the club than JP?

JP probably thinks he's taken us as far as he can.

Fair play to him.

A fresh feel all round may do everyone good. But there's the obvious 'Carson Yeung' risk.

Can't see there bring much interest in us though tbh. Close to 4 other clubs and would take big investment to take us to the next level.

Sheikh Mansour must be getting bored at City by now.

JP just needs to surround himself with the right football people, stop sacking managers so hastily and let them get the players they want, which means speculating a bit more to secure the likes of Billy Jones and Aaron Cresswell. Lescott's a great signing, but we can't get all class players on frees, and Jones was worth paying more to keep.

JP is probably like quite a few of us and can see that there is no real future in football unless you are already in the top 6.
The Prem is effectively split into 2 leagues already and many clubs have tried and failed to break into this elite bunch i.e. QPR, Southampton.
Even if you do well in a cup you end up with the poison chalice of the Europa league the next season. If JP intends to exit stage left then I wouldn't blame him.

Tbh, this is all pretty depressing.

All we can hope for is that he sells to somebody who gives a fook about the club.

I won't begrudge JP if he makes a healthy profit which he no doubt will. But please sell to some fly-by-night maniac who's buys for the wrong reasons!

As frustrating as JP is i'll miss him when/if he goes!

Cox: I can see you recognise more than many that JP is a better chairman than many give him credit for. Sure he substantially owns the club so why would he of all people do anything to jeopardize the value of it?
Furthermore where is the crime in being cautious? I am sick of JP getting flack for everything bad at this club and getting scant praise for the great job of keeping us in this division and solvent without a big gate,an oil sheikh or a Russian oligarch in the background. JP was not responsible for Anelka's insane outburst. JP was not responsible for appalling refereeing decisions that cost us points which would have took us well clear of relegation. His managerial appointments have left something to be desired but you can only chose from who is out there at the time.We got lucky with Hodgson.
Mel was a disaster and the players would not warm to him. No way would I have taken Sherwood and his Spurs entourage. Irvine could work - who's to say?
We all believe Lescott to be a great signing. A couple more decent signings and a couple more squad players and we are good to go in my opinion.

It's unusual to be questioning your chairman's future at the club because of your recruitment team's recent signings.

Versatility makes your squad bigger.

Why buy one player when Chris Baird can be three players?

....or you can buy one player, O'Hara, and effectively have none....

I agree which is why we're questioning his future based on the fact he's previously stated he wants to sell up!

Kevin Doyle, Jamie O'Hara and Roger Johnson, £11.5 million down the drain and no re-sale value. Fantastic business.

Strange that, when we've already received significant loan fees for both Doyle and Johnson.

And I did say re-sale value, not loan. Learn to read, sonny.

You know nothing about good business if you think re-sale values are all important.

Kevin Doyle cost £6.5m and has played 156 games for us. He helped to keep us in the premier league for many seasons playing in the lone striker role. Since then we have also received a big loan fee from QPR. He's already paid for himself.

Compare Doyle with Anelka, who you released after scoring twice in 11 games because he was making anti-semantic gestures on £50k a week.

You know nothing about football or about giving a full picture, because Kevin Doyle did indeed play 156 games over 5 years for Wolves and scored precisely 30 goals. That's 6 goals a year, for £6.5 million, and counter to your claim that he kept you in the Premier League "for many seasons" (cough) he actually only helped to keep you up for two seasons, because you went down in the third season, so he didn't keep you up or help you stay up at all in that third season. You went down. Do you understand that?
6 goals a year. Amazing.

And you still haven't told me what "significant" loan fees Wolves have received for Doyle or Johnson. That's because you don't know.
