No positives then. Oh yeah...we won.
Yes we won but it could have been worse had odewengie did well at the wnd
Positives:
- Boaingwa is looking a lot better and could potential save us a good amount of money if he keeps improving
- Torres' pace touch control is all there all he needs is service, apart from Ramires who else works so hard to win the ball back, he'll get his goal soon
- Hilario, he didn't make one mistake all game, you could tell the defense isn't as confident with him but after a good display with some good saves hopefully confidence will be there
- Ramires will work for 90 minutes to get the ball back
- Malouda and Anelka can still help the squad
- Mikel looked good again
- We won
- The team are adapting to the style of play AVB wants but just needs time and a few changes
- Mata was at Stamford Bridge and is about to sign.
Negatives:
- Alex and Terry were unusually poor
- Torres gets no service
- Kalou
- The fans booing Kalou when he came off
As for drogba he wasn't at his best but still has to give him credit he drew the West Brom defenders and created more space. The long balls up to him were very poor but he was still managing to turn them into good passes
Next weeks team should be
--------------------Hilario
Boaingwa--Ivanovic--Terry--Cole
---------------------Mikel
---------Ramires---------Josh
Anelka-----------Torres------Malouda/Mata(?)
Subs:
Blackman(I'd feel more confident than in turnbull came on)
David Luiz/Alex
Romeu
Malouda/Mata
Lampard
Drogba
Lukaku
Depends when Mata starts training with us
LSTD
I saw Blackman in a youth cup game last year and he looks like Turnbull jr
hes still very young he has his shakey moments but generally hes a good keeper.
he didn't make one mistake all game
-
dived WAY too early for the goal.
long opened his body up very well to make it look like he was shooting to his left, id put that down to clever play from long rather than a mistake. He shouldnt have had to do anything then anyway
He went to ground too early. Long was composed, but a top keeper would have stayed on his feet until he hit it, and would have saved it cos it was straight at him.
hes not a top keeper though thats the point, hes a decent back up keeper who put in a good performance for us, even his handling at crosses and long balls into the area was better than usual
Hillario>>>>>>De Gea
-
I think De Gea will come good. I see him as potential world class, its just hard to move from one league to another and if you read up on him, you can see why he finds it hard to settle. A few things need work, but he has awesome potential.
As for Hilarious, the amount of howlers he has made, LTSD, means I don't trust him.
Hilario is just a back up keeper who only gets chance when Cech is injured.
And in lesser competitions Turnbull gets the nod before him.
Yesterday and in pre season he did alright, looked sharp compare to previous seasons
True I guess, but he just makes these comic errors now and then.
You only just recognised I changed names
I recognised you from your 'not giving up attitude'
Good point about Lampard yellow cards - He's frustrated knowing he's not as good anymore. Hope Boas spots it too
