It's a lot of money for someone his age. Do we have any good young LBs aside from Van Aanholt?
You cant buy every player with one eye on the future, sometimes you have to buy the best available now.
I think that is what the club believe Luis is.

maybe we're hoping he can help blood in PVA?
i mean honestly, for this sort of money maybe we'd have been better off hijacking Moreno from the dippers!
Ake can play left back.
I truth the judgement of the manager but I can’t help think why didn’t we pay the extra for Shaw?
I don't really like the idea of spending masses on a left back, but price aside, I think he's the best available left back on the market and would do really well under Jose.
I like the fact that we have bought in some experienced players into the squad this season. Looks like we will have Luis, Fabregas, Costa and Tiago. I think this is what will give us the edge to win the title next season, they're all ready to slot in and be effective from day one. We have many young players bought in from previous seasons, so well stocked for the future.
I think it's 20 million euros, so around £15m
It's 20m euros, the English media always mix up the figure.
His release cause is 19m quid so why we pay more?
16m euro upfront 3m on appearances.
£15 million for a proven top class LB who has just won La Liga with an unfancied team as well as getting to a CL Final isn't bad business at all.
At 28 he easily has at least another 3 or 4 seasons at the very top
that's a load of money for a left back that's turning 29 next month.
It's 19mil pounds by the way not 20mil. his release clause is 19mil pounds not euros.
Top class LB's are at a premium and difficult to find.
That's why Utd just shelled out £30 million on a relatively unproven 18 year old LB.

Atlético want to sell Luis for his full buy-out clause (€24m). However, everything points to the club finally settling for €20m #CFC (Marca)

We are buying him for 20m euros which is about 16m pounds, initially we bid around 12m.
We had no plans to bid the buyout amount for him, which is 19m pounds. If this 16m pound was not accepted, we were looking at other options.
