A lot of players donate large amounts. Adebayor gives 50% of his earnings to charities back in his home country. He has paid for hospitals & schools over the past 5 years.

I heard that as well. Apparently when Adebayor was getting abuse for being a greedy so-and-so for not wanting to take a pay cut to leave Man City, the reason behind it was that he'd committed a certain amount to his foundation each year and that was based on his City wages.
Not sure how true it is but it's certainly something I'd like to believe.

This is great if so but you think he'd try a bit harder to keep the cash coming in.
I can't imagine there isn't a footballer who doesn't give to charity. Imagine earning a £100k a week and keeping it all to yourself in a bank account just earning interest. Would be sad not to do some good with it.

Every now and then you get a glimpse if the charitable work foorbalkers do. It surprises me that its not more widely reported.
