Fully support this - Kasper is a superb keeper and a country mile better than anyone we've had between the sticks lately.

Whilst I do have some small sympathy with him as the ref surreptitiously gave him his first booking - The fact remains he has a habit of booting the ball away when the opposition scores and he's got away with it up until now.

That rubbish ref let his emotions/anger get the better of him in this incident - given so many officials have over looked this gross crime until now, this wasn't the appropriate occasion to stop the habit.

Take the learning from it Kasper - No more kicking the ball away - The Football League have now stated their intentions

It was just one of those games you have every now and then when a host of bad decisions and bad luck all conspire together - bad decisions from individual players, Sven, to a certain, extent and certainly the referee. Often, one or two of these won't have such an ultimate effect on the game, unfortunately the culmination of several was our downfall.

4 points from our first two away (derby) games, pretty, pretty good. Next we need to work on our home tactics now to break teams down who park the bus.

Re: Schmeichel and the football league's 'intentions',

a) I think we just have to accept what has happened, be happy it is only 1 match ban and acknowledge two bookings like that for a keeper in quick succession is probably something we will never see again in a life time at LCFC, in a similar manner to Gary Parker's 'quick free-kick' incident.

b) if this is a particular issue for Kasper in comparison to other keepers, this early season learning curve will make sure it won't happen again in a more important situation - so perhaps a blessing in disguise??

c) I don't think this suggests any sort of intent from the football league at all. Post City match on the football show, I stopped counting after the fourth time I saw a keeper/player kick the ball away after a goal in the proceeding matches.

All it does is highlight the general problem of inconsistency and subjective refs which all teams have to suffer throughout a season - unfortunately for us, this year we have perhaps suffered from one or two of the worst decisions.

Anyone see what the Ipswich keeper did after Posh's 7th went in yesterday? No card. I suppose having brandished two reds already, the ref couldn't really could he?

I did indeed Vulpes, as I mentioned above, it was one of several and probably many throughout the fixture list yesterday.

Actually, Kasper threw the ball back towards the halfway line. not that far away from the centre circle. I watched in horror as the idiot ref dramatically brandished the red card. You could say that it was thrown "with attitude", but the sending off was harsh in the extreme.

Unfortunately, none of this would have happened if Sven hadn't replaced Nugent with that wet lettuce Gallagher. If he had to come off, what's wrong with Schlupp for goodness sake? Why else was he on the bench?

Robster - I admit I wasn't at the game yesterday - But I watched the game online and and watched the Football League show

I have to say I saw him throw the ball to his left - The Forest players did their best to cajole the ref to book him (they needn't have wasted their efforts, he was desperate to send him off) although surely they wouldn't have pleaded with the ref for the second yellow if he threw the ball near the half-way line - Then the commentators (OK they're hardly reliable for an accurate account of the game) said he threw the ball into the stands.

Unless you were there and can tell me different I think we have been kidding ourselves with this throwing back bit

I was there Danger, and I'd only had three steady pints, so unless I had some sort of mental aberration, can attest to the fact that the ball wasn't thrown into the stand. Can anyone back me up on this?

The ball was definitely threw in the direction of the halfway line, and definitely was not thrown into the stands.

Ball was definitely thrown forward, but more towards touch line than centre circle. Kasper has come out and admitted he did it to time waste or slow things down. Bookable offence, but usually a player is given at least one warning, rather than two yellow cards in a minute!

The ref is from Leeds and a Headmaster so guess that explains it...!

How many players score and then boot the ball away when it rebounds off the net!?!....sigh...what's the point...refs will always continue to be shizen until they are made completely professional.

I am definitely having a bet on us getting a penalty against Southampton!

danger, kasper is decent but he alone made alot of mistakes last season that ended up costing him his future at leeds utd,bit dubious that grayson said we needed better and went after lonergan who had the choice of everton as well but so far lonergan is performing better than any thing seen of kasper last season.decent is kasper, not as good as lonergan'os overall game as they are both good shot stoppers but lonergan knows when to come off his line and kaspers game fails at that at the moment.suprised he had to be dragged out of leeds to join leicester when sven is trying to buy his way out of championship before the wages to turn over rule comes in next season(GOOD RULE FOR CLUBS LIKE LEEDS),not so good for leicester though with smaller turnovers.
