Moron. Why not fix Lol, FYI and the lots.
It should be a day of celebration.
I think he's been one of England's best performers over the last 10 years or so, but this is probably the right decision.
In the nicest way possible, I think it'll be quite refreshing and encouraging for the squad to get rid of some of the old guard. This is exciting for the youngsters. They recognise that a new chapter in the England team is beginning and it's their chance to create something better. This should give Wilshere more of a chance to shine as well.

What's a slùt got to do with Gerrard retiring?
Thanks admin. HK, hope you took note . Keep it civil.
Gerrard retired about 2 months too late.
England just got good enough to get through the WC group stage.
One of the best midfielders of his generation, but horribly misused by England managers - much like Scholes and Lampard, IMO.
People always pointed to his comparatively poor England performances (relative to what he showed at club level) as being indicative of the fact that he didn't care enough about England to perform on the international scene. In truth, he was always played in a position or system that didn't suit him.
'Why can't Gerrard and Lampard play together?!' was always asked, but no pundit ever seemed to point out that they both played relatively attacking midfield roles for their clubs, whilst they were being asked to play alongside each other in a 442 at international level. Gerrard was never going to have the freedom to burst forward like he used to for Liverpool without a natural sitter alongside him, and Lampard was never going to be able to make those goalscoring forays from deep that he did for Chelsea in a 2 man midfield.
Just such a shame to see that he never got to fulfil his potential on an international platform.
