We're looking for a Prem loan supposedly
If he grows some boIlocks then we might be interested.
I'm not entirely certain but I think his attitude wasn't quite the fit that SM is looking for; we have a great dressing room and it manifested all over the park last season apart from when BamBam was in possession and looking only for self gratification rather than helping the team. He's undoubtedly a talent and he helped us in spells, but he ain't all that quite yet... Let him struggle for a while, get a bit of humility, and I think he could easily be a force in the future.
Quite an assumption to make. Never heard him running his mouth off in the press about loans etc. Wasn't really played in his favoured position last year and didn't complain either. Seems fairly grounded if anything
Not good enough for a Prem team, wouldn't even get in our 1st eleven
I don't see him ever getting nowhere near Chelsea's 1st team barring league cup games especially as the play a similar system to us
He wasn't a team player, Don Mata, and believe me I'm not anxious to slate the player at all, he scored some great goals for us at a time when we needed him to and I hope he goes on to do great things in the game, but he was always all about the glory. Look at his goals for us; he starts being mobbed and ends up celebrating by himself. No doubting his talent but he would definitely do well that people pitch up to watch the team, not the Patrick Bamford Show. If he gets that into his game, he'll be very capable of striking for a Premier League side. Without it, he won't be. Once people in this league realised he was going to shoot come what may, he is very easy to predict and therefore negate. If he integrates into an attacking unit, as likely to pick a pass as unleash from 25 yards, he'll be a whole new bag of tricks.
Well it must be the heat! I totally agree with 666 about Bamford. He completely lacks any passion. His ambition was his own personal goal tally. He couldn't have cared less whether Derby won lost or drew. Not a team player at all.
I thought at the time he only had eyes for his Chelsea chance but I don't think there is much possibility of that
Um, I agree with 666 as well. Very definitely got a talent but a bit too self centred and, from a playing point of view, a bit lightweight.
I can’t believe he is a Chelsea player, actually I can’t believe he is a premiership player.
Yep he scored some important goals for us, but let’s not forget the sitters he missed. He was starting to make Sammon look like a footballer.
He may well have been played out of position, but he is never going to be a target man, he’s just not built for it. This brings me back to Chelsea. You couldn’t put Bambi in the same bracket as Drogba or Lukaku.
Not good enough for the Prem, not good enough for the Championship. MK or Forest is where he should be.
the exception that proves the rule:
the only time I can remember him being genuinely inspired and selfless was his pass to Hendrick for our third(?) against Forest.
the rest of the time, yup, 666 has him for the most part sussed
Ive just found out that the word Chel ski is banned on here.
I doubt whether any of 666's comments about Bamford's attitude are true. After all it was 666 who wrote them so that's always a clue. Bamford's goals were very important at a time of the season where SM was changing the style of football we played. His style doesn't fit in with the pressing game we play so he became surplus to requirements. We need someone who tracks back and pressures the opposition when they lose possession.
Not good enough for the Prem, not good enough for the Championship. MK or Forest is where he should be.
=============
He may be later in the month, then we will see if he is good enough for the Championship!!
He was good enough for you last year but now he doesn't play for you he is "not worth it"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bamford is an excellent player and his "greedy" shots from range netted us vital points in games where we never looked like scoring.
He is still a bit lightweight and doesn't always select the best option when is possession, but anyone suggesting he isn't at least championship quality obviously wasn't watching last season.
I hope he gets a chance in the Premiership this season. He needs to get out of Chelsea though, as Mourinho's record of nurturing young, home grown talent is appalling.
Cass I do appreciate you taking an interest in our club, many do.
If you are one of those posters who can be bothered to troll through historical posts, you will find that I have never stated he is good enough for the Rams. Having the benefit of watching him flounce around the pitch in person, I can assure you he is not worthy of our great club.
Forest on the other hand may well be the level of the limp wristed fella

I assume its not against the rules to show an interest in Derby? Don't get me wrong and believe interest is in anyway showing support or liking......
Fair enough comment if that has aways been your view. As for "we may be his level" are you seriousley saying there is a massive gulf between our 2 clubs?
Can't believe any sane Forest/Derby supporters think there is a gulf.

No gulf, just a canyon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I did say "sane"
Canyon.....errrmmmmm more like a nats c**k
When we say sane we make two diagnoses Cass. One is that you are sane and the other, that the person disagreeing with you is not. Can you back this up? You support Forest for a start which is indicative of some form of mental defect.
It's "gnat" for future reference, cass.
The 'g' is silent, that is to say that everybody sees it but nobody says it, a bit like Forest fans about the mentalist Kuwaiti ruining your club.
I have to tell you cass - The last time we compared both teams against each other in March they were worlds apart.
Ask your fans, they were so embarrassed about the gulf that they walked out at half time.
A gulf I tell you.
I think we sometimes make assumptions about players' attitudes based on not a great deal. I never saw anything to suggest Bamford's heart wasn't in the right place or that he was simply playing for himself. I do think he isn't a natural wide player and that he hasn't the physique or experience at the moment to play as an old-fashioned number nine, at least as a sole striker at Championship level. To want to go back to Chelsea and try to impress his manager simply shows ambition to me. Maybe he will make it one day.
His "flouncey" style obviously hasn't endeared him to some of us, but I remember Chris Martin coming in for seven shades of criticism on here for his so-called "laconic" style. Some of us said he was lazy and couldn't be ar5ed to make forward runs. Eventually I think we all came to the conclusion that he is a pretty good centre-forward at this level.
Bamford scored some important goals for us but he fits in less well for the team than someone like Russell which was why he featured increasingly infrequently as the season went on. With the way we play I wouldn't see him being more than a bit-part player if he came back and this is no good for him or his parent club. He's clearly got a bit of talent but it isn't easy to see where he will end up, position-wise or at what level. If I were Mourinho I would loan him out again in the Championship to a club that will play him centrally and see if that would beef him up a bit. As a short-term loanee for us I reckon he did pretty decently so I would wish him well.

Absolutely correct, We had a poor team, carp manager who didn't care and players who didn't try!!!
Deserved to get hammered by a team who where so much better (gulf).
Now we have a better team, a manager who cares greatly and a team who will be pumped up or shipped out.
Think that will make us very competitive!
