He's very particular in the way he does things, he changed a few things around Carrington to suit his ideas (grass to emulate OT, sleep pods, flood lights for late afternoon sessions). I'm sure he would have liked moe time to implement his ideas around the club, and a US tour will get in the way of this. I'm glad he's so particular about preperations, I don't see it as a bad thing.

It's hardly going to impact there one game a week campaign next year.

I think he makes a very valid point. It's ludicrous for teams to travel thousands of miles to meaningless friendlies just to appease the accounts department. Unfortunately, that's the way the sport has headed but it's refreshing to see managers speak out against it.

Except it only appeases the accounts department if you play well and entertain.

Something we did not do this morning but United did!

accounts in football is nearly bigger than winning games these days

united did play galaxy,we played roma,no studge, gerrard or established players playing.a good workout in the heat.

He does make a valid point, but it's my hope it's the start of LvG upsetting various elements at the club with his outspoken brashness and arrogance, resulting in a lack of stability and unity, ultimately leading him to be sacked (again!)

I'm looking forward to LVG's tenure at united, he's a big personality so his dealings with the media should be fun to watch, plus he may fall out with a few players which is also entertaining.

But he seems really driven and has total belief in his ideas, that has to be a good thing for a manager and united will be far more competitive this year.

Last year was hilarious, you could be having an awful day then youd hear the latest united result and it would make you laugh, good old Moyes

But it's a better league with a competitive united and I think they will be immediately a better side with LVG as manager.

Even Moyes would have done better this up and coming season with no CL football, new players and deadwood removed.

oh dear, Fear Factor setting in already.. its only pre season. no need to be scared of LvG and his UTD Boys.
we are finished remember. No Europe No Chance, right?
i mean, what could UTD possibly do, this season?

posted on 24/7/14

It's already the end of July and so far they haven't removed any deadwood.

(Apart from their only experienced centre backs and full back).

Going to be a very busy month for them.

No fear factor Stringer, we're more then content with how far along our side is in it's development, Brendan's 3rd year and we've consistently improved for 18 straight months.

Our curve goes only up

A fear factor has to be earned.

Fergie's fear factor has been replaced by Moyes' comedy factor.

Without European football, Utd are expected to at least equal our exploits last season minimum.

I hope he has the same kind of problems he had at Barca as he'll be out of a job come the new year.

Yup, smells like fear to me...

Stringer;

Yes you're right actually. The thought of a back four that will quite possibly often be

Smalling, Jones, Evans and Shaw makes me brick it about being able to score against you. Then going up against Carrick Herrera and Fletcher makes me cack myself about winning the midfield battle. Then all that quality down the wings makes me concerned about you putting in 87 poorly thought out crosses.
