All what work?

Not sure if he is what we need if he is having cold feet after watching a friendly defeat. Clearly doesn't like the scrappiness of English football and seems way to pampered and pandered by his entourage for his own good. Yes, losing 2-0 to Mansfield was beyond bad but seriously look at that Leeds eleven that played the last half hour. I desperately hope that very few of them will feature a lot this season. I'll cry if any of them start against Chesterfield. But for me Viviani should be hungry enough to see that he can make a difference in the team, a chance to shine and be a Leeds hero. If he's not up to that it says a lot about his attitude. Just my thoughts.

Child, what if cellino offered him half of what he's currently on?

posted on 24/7/14

I think if there's a snag with the money or contract he is being offered, then that is fair enough. Happens all the time. Disappointed that it has gone so far down the road only to be scuppered by money though, if that's the case. That sort of thing should be sorted before the player jets off to watch the team. From what I read it was about how the team performed in the friendly, and that attitude doesn't sit well with me. If it's money then disappointing, but move on and stop wasting anymore time on him. Look for someone else that has a desire to make a difference to the team on a shall we say competitive wage.....

Jonty ............... change the record . If MC was offering less wages then he's willing to accept, why even turn up to Mansfield on a Tues evening in the first place?

Whatever the issue is, he seemed happy enough until he saw the delights of our team playing on a Tuesday night in Mansfield.

That's where the problem lies, not wage demands. Unless of course the delights of Mansfield is a popular destination for many Italians ?????

Phil hay said his party wasn't impressed by performance but I think also that that wasn't the issue, can't have helped though.

My gut feel is its money related based on fact cellino likes to say how he offers players less than what they're on.

VOF cellino has said he wants players who are not coming for the money and offers lower wages.

I actually agree. Cellino is on record saying that it's easier offering less wages then paying more when they show their quality, rather than pay them a high wage right away because you can't reduce wages further down the line. Think that was about the Berardi deal? It's not a policy I disagree with at all, makes sense, but I'm not happy that we're faffing about with one player over wages, when an acceptable/unacceptable wage offer should have been one of the first logistics to sort out. I don't know, maybe being a bit harsh on Viviani. But must look elsewhere soon before season starts. Need at least another striker and defender. What happened to the Hudson and Hanley rumours?

Child, if you're on 10k a week and club a offers you 10/12 k and club b offers you 7k but 200k bonus if you make so many appearances or get promoted which would you choose?

Remember Gary Kelly situation where club wouldn't play him do as not to pay bonus?

Can't rely on getting that bonus paid.

Nobodies denying that's what Cellino has said, it's on record.

But why would the player and representatives travel to Mansfield on a Tues night if the level of wages on offer hadn't already been discussed? Makes no sense at all.

Who said it hadn't been discussed yet?

Nine of us know what hold up is but we do k ow he wasn't impressed with what he saw and we do know cellino likes to offer less.

Maybe a better offer came in.

Maybe he doesn't like it here.

Maybe he doesn't think he can earn his bonus based on team he sees.

Whatever it is its a test for our credibility here in eyes of other continental targets.

Good point Jonty.
A guy like this is what we need to attract more quality.

I'm sure club reps sit with viv and his associates were working overtime pointing out that "that Lees chap, yeah he's crap. But he'll be gone. And that lad running around like a headless chicken in midfield - gone. Oh and that oaf who just caused the goal, gone."

Oh and that oaf who just caused the goal, gone.

To which he replies: but you only just signed Silvestri!

Any word from Phil Hay on the matter?

Nope, its just ongoing.

It's a big move for a young player to move country, especially if he doesn't speak English. Its a great adventure, but not for everyone if you're close with family, maybe a partner too and you might have doubts about the owner.

Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP
Viviani's camp say negotiations with Leeds are still not complete. Say they are "waiting for answers from the president (Cellino)." #lufc

The president who is on holiday in another country when the player is waiting in Leeds.
