Rather more serious than first thought. Rotten luck, but hopefully The Eust can do a job.

Cue the sympathy from West Brom fans...

I would never wish an injury on a player so I will just leave it at I told you so.

Genuinely wish him a full recovery

Not a big Eustace fan to be honest and a very good loan now needed with it being such a key position to how we play

Massive blow!!

Gutted.

Here's hoping the WBA we've had a laugh with recently appreciate that no one likes to see anyone injured and don't come over here to gloat.

To be fair Igor JH and Cox are being pretty magnanamous,

Aries of course will be doing backflips and composing a massive article as to why he was right all along (Of course not mentioning the money paid as that's not allowed

Didn't appear like that on the 'oops' thread Manc.

I had a horrible feeling something like this might happen.

Gutted for him (and us of course)

Wishing him a speedy recovery; not a nice one to have.

I don't normally post on Derby only articles but saw that Thorne has done his ACL from social media. It's one of those injuries that in the past could and probably would end a players career. Thankfully things have improved vastly over the years and I wish him a successful and speedy recovery

Manc is obviously smart enough to realise i'm a decent bloke who just likes a bit of banter. Oh and I made him laugh twice in one day too!

The Baggie Man in peace....

I have to say I feel desperately sorry for George Thorne and knowing Aries personally, I am sure he will echo my sympathies to George and indeed Derby County FC.

Although GT was a 4th or 5th choice at The Hawthorns, I for one wished him well and hoped he would find his true level with the Rams.

Nobody would wish to see any injury to any player (possible exception of Luis Suarez) and its is bitterly ironic that after all the extended banter between your lot and our lot, that this should happen so soon into his DCFC career.

Best wishes George for a speedy and successful recovery from all Baggies.

The way some Derby fans have been fan-girling I wouldn't be at all surprised!

I had a feeling when I saw it, it didn't look good. Wish him all the best gutted for the fella.

Personally, before panicking with a loan we should look at what we have, Hughes against weaker teams I think could fill that role, Eustace against the more physical and see what Coutts has got (if he doesn't get injured) to offer in that position.

I think we potentially have enough cover. We seem to be working hard on our defensive shape this year and I think we could be pleasantly surprised by our back up options.

It's difficult because Thorne towards the end did seem to take our game to another level, but someone else has that job now.

Get well soon George...was this the same injury as before?

FAO Derbymanc:

From the Derby Telegraph

"Thorne completed his £2m-plus transfer from West Bromwich Albion less than a week ago."

Not been your day poppet!

Life goes on though Tezzy we've lost the cherry still got the icing.

Who knows maybe Thorne is a tactical genius and his presence alone in the dressing room will inspire us to new heights.

Rather than look elsewhere, we already have his replacement at the club, Paul coutts.

He's always said his best position is DCM. He has the ability to play that role comfortably. Eustace did great last season, but seeing how Thorne took us to that next level I can't help but feel coutts has the younger legs!

Over to you couttsy...

Quite wrong, Igor. No real football fan would wish this on any player.
I do hope for two things, though:
1. Derby will investigate the decision to leave Thorne on the pitch after his first knock in getting a dead leg
2. that you lot will just tone it all down now.
Seriously, good luck to George Thorne.
