Really can't stand it when people say stuff like, £13million...worth a punt. That's a real £13 million which would represent one of our highest ever transfer fees...on a punt
Id prefer not to gamble on people this season, we need proven quality, preferably with plenty of premier league experience as we can't afford another transfer window like last and thankfully I think Pochettino can see that.
If we are to sign any more players , I'd go for either
Bony / Hernandez <sorry if spelt wrong >.
Vlarr , lovren or jones.
Mid field is fine.
13 Million in modern day prices is no where near our highest. Inflation and all that.
Considering we just got 8 Mill for Siggs and spent 30 on Lamela (who will hopefully prove his worth this season) 13 Million for a player who went to the world cup played for the team who came 3rd Scored 2 assisted 1 and is only 20 years of age. Okay I dont think its a punt I think its a bargain
Levy will not sign 29 year old Vlaar for £8m, no chance.
I would love us to sell BAE and Naughton, and replace Naughton with Richards.
Jay Rodriguez has a bad injury, he will be moving nowhere in this window, and he is not all that imo.
We already have better forwards than Bony, who could prove a one season wonder like Michu.
Hernandez is NOT what we need at all and would be a waste of money.
We need to find a quality CB with years ahead of him, and maybe another (pacey) forward

Replace Naughton with Richards. = Replace a steady yet unspectacular right back with an injury prone one on bigger wages.
Vlaar has suddenly become a must sign for people because of the World Cup. If someone had suggested it at the end of last season they'd have been laughed off Ja606.
Micah Richards. Have said it before and will say it again - an overated crock with a questionable attitude is not what we need
If we want a back up RB then yedlin is the one
We don't need a back up CB we need a starter

Reports suggest we are currently in talks with Chelsea offering Paulinho for Lukaku, sticking point is Chelsea want a £29m buy back clause and we will only proceed if the buy back clause is nearer £40m.

greateams, its well known in Manchester that Richards is always out and about around the town centre, late for training constantly and is known for poor weight control when injured and not taking rehab serious enough

Depay has to be worth a look if he's really available for that kind of money.. not that we need him
greatteams, well we will have to agree to disagree on this one as I believe it is you that are wrong

If true then Chelsea can f. Uck right off. Cheek of them to want a buy back clause and it wouldn't suprise me if they did. They maybe shouldn't buy every single player on the planet then they wouldn't have this problem
Sorry but I have to agree with a few of the others that you've had a bit of a mare here.
You're looking at us spending up to 67 million, on five players. Considering what we did last summer, using the Bale money to sign seven new players, that's never ever going to happen. And that money includes a 'punt', which is a word that makes Levy come out in a rash.
We've signed two already, I can't see more than one more player coming in, and I can't see that being a big money signing.
Richards was a good player, but is always injured and not really a CB, so we'd replace one crocked center back (kaboul) with another makeshift one, probably on higher wages. Nope.
There's also no way that Paulinho should be anywhere near our first team, though I accept that's personal opinion (also Chadli not making even the squad? Or Holtby, or Bentaleb, or Ciriches...)
You wouldn't get 8m for Lennon, or 5 for BAE, even with Levy's negotiating.
I agree about Bony though, I'd love him at Spurs. But even if he did sign, I'd imagine that Soldado will be first choice.
Sorry to be so negative!
