I have to agree with sussex that the gun recoil on Time Crisis is what made it.
Star Wars - the original one with the wire frames
Tehkan World Cup - it was a top down cabinet with a rollerball to control the players
Gryzor - Remember playing this on holiday in Spain in 1987 and thinking it was the greatest game ever.
Tecmo World Cup 90
Wrestlefest - remember going to my local video shop to play this and getting chucked out for bashing the buttons too hard.
there were so many good games in the 80s,
best for me:
wonderboy
ghost n goblins
super sprint (the one with a few steering wheels)
shinobi
and there was one I just cant remember the name of, you used collect all types of different weapons by hitting rocks as you went along, fack I wish I could remember it
was never really into the gun ones like operation wolf and stuff they were too quick
I used to go arcade every lunchtime and after school too
best days were when the guy came to empty the machine, he'd stop you playing and then put about 10 credits on it for you to say sorry result
