The Oslo accords are still the best chance at peace, they were agreed once but never implemented.

Why can the Israeli government not implement them? They hold all the cards. They do this and their support for Hamas will dwindle over night.

There is / was no better plan.

Netenyahu is firmly against it though.

I really think you don't understand the situation. Hamas are the aggressors. Israel will live peacefully if they don't have to defend themselves against constant attacks. Hamas and the extremist Muslims from other groups who want them exterminated will not let peace happen.

I'm not saying Israel are without fault or blame in whats happening, just that you need to get to the bottom of why there may never be peace in the area. I've heard this from their own mouths on tv and radio, its not propaganda its fact that some of them freely admit there will be no peace while even one Israeli is still alive. Its that extremism why I support the less aggressive side. I ave said on JA606 many times, extremism is the problem in the world today, whatever its for.

The Accord was in 93 Rabin was killed in 95.That was why I said it was never agreed.Perhaps I should have said never implemented but it was failing before Rabin was shot.

The accord was in 93, and was being implemented, it was a road map to peace. Rabin was assassinated in 95 due to that agreement.

If there was no agreement and no implementation there would have been no need for the right wing israeli's to assassinate their president.

Again.. what stops Israel from adopting these accords once more?

Look up the lehi group and their attacks on British personnel before spouting that crap.

If you want to eradicate extremism, you must look at the root cause of why people become extreme. Not everything can or should be solved with an "iron fist".

Most of the people aren't even semetic that came to Israel, they spoke Yiddish not Hebrew,Arabic or Aramaic and are of European descent

There has been a lot of building in East Jerusalem.It has totally changed over the years.Whilst there are more Israelis in the West Bank the settlements are more spread out.

Which is illegal under international law.

The reason why it's spread out is so that the land mass available for a contiguous Palestinian state is more difficult to apportion.

Because of the likes of Hamas that would terrorise them at any opportunity. Agreeing to any permanent peace plan would mean that Israel would leave themselves open to the likes of Hamas. For that reason I don't see Israel agreeing until Hamas agrees to accept them and not threaten to wipe them out. Digging and building tunnels for attack after Israel eased the blockade to allow more food, medicine and building materials isn't a good example..
