English players are overvalued, no doubt there...
I do have to point out that your method of judging them is a bit off. No Shaw hasn't won anything, he's only 19, Rooney hadn't won anything when we bought him either but he was a very promising young player so he probably got paid more than other players who had won things.
If Chelsea had bought Neymar years back when they were trying to wouldn't they have given him a bigger wage than they would have to some more experienced and successful player that wasn't as good / didn't have as much potential?
Utterly utterly overvalued. Chambers 16m?!? Shaw 30m!?!? Gone absolutely crazy. Neither worth anything like that money, but 16m for a u19 player with 25 appearances is r.etarded and beyond stupid.
We got a far better right back from arsenal for free
£16m to replace a player that was better
Well done Wenger,played a blinder
Didn't Arsenal just have to offer him an extra year on the new contract? That was all he was after, not money.
Yes that's all he was looking for
So, instead of having a top class RB for another 3 years, Arsenal are spending £16M to buy someone in who might not be the real deal.
Makes sense to me.
The thing is Chambers and Shaw could make their positions their own at their new clubs for the next 15 years which means that the supposed fees could turn out to be bargains.
It's a bit different to clubs recklessly splashing out cash on average footballers they don't need like City spending £30M+ on Rodwell and Sinclair.
Rodwell is simply never fit so it's an unfair comment with him
Sinclair can only have been brought in to satisfy a quota, never anywhere near good enough and I thought it was unfair of City to derail a players carreer for their own ends,no matter the justification
Why is it unfair to comment, everybody knew he was injury prone before you signed him.
Wouldn't mind knowing how much you think we paid for each player given that between them they're 30m plus?
I'm pretty certain together the pair didn't even break £20m.
I think Rodwell was £12m and Sinclair was less than £4m x
I think Sinclair was up to £5.5M and Rodders was £12M
You have to understand that all city players cost more than we actually paid for them.
Milner is apparently 24 million rather than 16 million and a player that was an academy graduate who we didn't pay money to sign.
You City fans are aware that we signed Debuchy who will be 1st choice right back. Chambers will most likely play as centre half. Very strange how your club are the ones that splash cash on everyone and have a go at us
What's the most you payed for a player?
So you spent £16M on a 2nd choice right back?
Liverpool spent £17 million on Jordan Henderson 3 years and no one knew who he was at the time. United have spent £30 million on an average left back.
Man City waste money on anyone.
We only splashed the cash once with Ozil last summer and this season he will be even better
