Chelsea wouldn't have sold him to us even if we were interested.
Still don't see them finishing top 6.
Great signing, but how much of their transfer budget will this take?
They are getting a top quality striker for a decent fee but as he was already there last season it isnt an improvement in squad size or strength.
On the other hand, he could improve even further over the next few seasons and they then make a profit.

Everton will be solid and tough to beat again but so far they haven't added much to what they already, just Besic is a 'new' player and he will take time to adapt.
I think they will do well in the Europa League and this will affect the Prem too as Thurs-Sun is harder than Tues/Weds -Sat/Sun. Top 6 at best, top 4 very unlikely.
So everton won't manage to consolidate last years 5th?
Key players secured. Two loan stars seem to have been secured. Bobby states he wants upto 6 players adding to the squad, three more to come.
Like GB I can only say we will improve.....Everton, Solid....
That will do for me as last season we were tipped to go down

I dont know, they were strong at the end of the season. It'll be interestin to see if they can keep that goin. Martinez is a great manager. But that's a great point about Europa league. It really does seem to affect league form. Can't wait for the start of the season! These BT Ads are great!

Hope they can repeat last season and at the least secure European footie.
It depends on Spurs and Man Utd really Arouna.
They both underperformed with the squads at their disposal last season.
You could improve but still finish 7th if they both improve by more. Or you could stagnate but they don't improve enough either.
Lots of variables.
Purely on squad depth it's hard to see Everton maintaining a EL run and a really good league position. It's tough to do. Even Chelsea relatively struggle in the league when they do well in Europe.

Quality young players that can be given a chance. Gibson, Oviedo, Kone to return after missing large parts/all Of the season.

Gibson
Sorry, couldn't resist it.....
To be honest I think Everton will really struggle this season.
They haven't really improved the squad very much and they have a terrible manager, just ask RAP............

Everyone needs squad players, you have Borini
If squads stayed as they are would be more worried bout them than Utd

Really? I'm surprised most people are writing us off so easily.
We had a rubbish season last year but Moyes was incredibly inept at handling our squad. I'm sure we'll be up there challenging with the best of them again this season.
We still have arguably the best front 3 out of any team in the league if Van Gaal can get them firing.

When asked to hold the ball up, a lamppost is just as good as we saw in the World Cup. He is best running on to the ball or from a counter attack.
Compared to last season Everton have only added Besic.
Won't be enough to finish above man utd again.

Didn't realise window had closed!
I guess we never sold our best player(Gibson)so should be fine
He is no better than Lambert IMO, he is big and strong and will get 10-15 league goals a season so for me the asking price was way way too high. I can't believe the hype around him.
i dont rate lukaku much. i have seen him go totally missing in games and his first touch is poor. i think that is why none of the top 4 teams in europe went for him.
